I'm super excited to say that Yara Shea Beauty is now in California.

Beautyologie's mission is to offer our customers beauty brands that make a real difference in the world. We're honored to introduce our newest find, Yara Shea Beauty. Their natural skin care products are made with pure, unrefined shea butter that is ethically sourced and handcrafted by women in Ghana, West Africa. Shea butter is known as "women's gold" in Africa because it is such a valuable source of income for them. Yara Shea Beauty founder Nguzo Ogbodo created Yara Shea Beauty to utilize African resources to address African problems. The money earned from the sale of these products is donated to the nonprofit Nguzo started in 2011, Hope and Dreams Initiative, which focuses on fighting period poverty, and enabling girls and young women to stay in school. The initiative provides them with the necessary hygiene and sexual reproductive health education to live their lives with dignity and purpose. Taking care of your skin with the hydrating products of Yara Shea Beauty not only gives hope to girls and young women but it also empowers marginalized women in Nigeria and Ghana, who sourced and handcrafted these products, to build stronger communities in the process. Inspirational Tuesday! These girls inspired me to launch Yara Shea Beauty, having worked with them for over ten years plus and seeing them grown into such beautiful young ladies, seeing first hand the injustices and inequalities they go through every day.

Since inception, proceeds from the sale of Yara Shea Beauty and personal care products are returned to them and their communities in West Africa to fund multiple empowerment programs including Menstrual Hygiene and sexual reproductive health education, I want a world for them where they don't have to miss school or work due to lack of sanitary pads and where they have the power of choice for what's good for their body.
