Transforming your habits is challenging. Maintaining discipline is tough. Mending your relationship with food is no easy feat. Restarting can feel daunting. But remaining stagnant is also difficult. Experiencing dissatisfaction in your body, feeling uneasy in your own skin, and watching yourself remain stuck year after year—this too is hard. There's no way to escape the difficult; you only get to choose which difficulty you're willing to embrace. Over time, I recognized that the struggle of change is far less intense than the pain of continued misery.
