This is one of those moments that doesn’t feel real… 👸💜🦖

My book is officially coming out 🥹

Princesses Don’t Love Dinosaurs publishes April 30, but it’s available for presale NOW.

This whole story started with my son when he was three.

One afternoon, I picked him up from preschool and asked about his day. He told me he had been playing with dinosaurs, and when I asked who he played with, he listed all boys. When I asked what the girls were doing, he said, “Princesses.”

So I said, “Why don’t you invite the girls to play dinosaurs with you?”

He looked at me, completely sure of himself, and said,
“No, mommy. Princesses don’t love dinosaurs.”

That moment stopped me.

Because… why not?

And that’s how this book was born ✨
A story about being exactly who you are, liking what you like, and not letting anyone put you in a box.

I’m so proud (and honestly a little emotional) to finally share it.

A huge thank you to Nightingale Books and Pegasus Publishers for believing in my little story and bringing it to life.

If you’d like to support, it would truly mean so much:

Thankful today and always for the people who’ve walked beside me, near and far, old and new. Each of you has touched my life in ways big and small, sometimes for a moment and sometimes for a lifetime. I’ve been thinking a lot about “In Yun,” the belief that every connection, every crossing of paths, is the result of countless moments and threads woven long before we ever meet.

Life has a way of swinging us back toward the people and moments we’re meant to meet again… In Yun in motion, even when we can’t see the arc.

And this year especially, I’m grateful for the souls who’ve shown up in the most unexpected ways… the ones who feel familiar even when the timing is unpredictable, the ones whose presence lingers long after a conversation ends, the ones who remind me that some bonds don’t follow linear paths, they just exist, quietly meaningful and deeply felt.

To my family, my friends, and the people who’ve drifted into and out of my world (and sometimes back again), thank you for being part of my story. For the love, the lessons, the laughter, and the little moments that become memories. I’m grateful for every bit of In Yun that brought us together, and for the chapters still unfolding.

🍁✨ Happy Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for you. Always.

NYC has some of the best playgrounds. Yes, those in Central Park but also the hidden gems in our actual neighborhoods.

Playgrounds in the 1970’s and 1980’s were very different than they are today. Literally no safety precautions and these metal swings and slides that would burn your bum if the temperature rose above 70 degrees.

I challenged my father to take me to all of them.

Yup - at 3 years old - one of my main goals in life was to ride EVERY swing in NYC (lucky for my father - at that age i was unaware there were other boroughs).

Here we are at Carl Shurz park.

I can still hear the sound that swing made. I’m not even going to attempt to phonetically spell the sound of a swing from the late 1970’s.

Feel free to try though …. 😜⬇️

One of the questions I always get when people find out I grew up in NYC is: ‘Where did you have gym and recess?!’

Honestly, I don’t remember having recess, but we definitely had a lot of PE in elementary school. Our school was in a brownstone just half a block from Central Park, so while we didn’t have a traditional gym, we had something even better—the park! We used the playgrounds, sports fields, and, of course, the boat pond off 72nd Street… where we had to run many (many, MANY) laps.

In the cold, rainy or snowy months we’d go to Sokol - which is also where we had basketball and volleyball practice (sports teams) and games. So, yes, we would change into our gym clothes, board a school bus and travel the five city avenue blocks to 71st and 1st Ave.

Sokol gym was unlike most gyms and my interweb deep dive just blew my mind with its history.

To start - the gym - compact for city life - had a full basketball court, full stage and backstage area (we’d wander through, super high ceilings and a track on the second floor that we’d sometimes have to also run around (many MANY times.). Upon taking the old wooden steps up to the second floor, you could either go right or left - we peaked our heads to the right quite often and i know it’s been a LONG while since but i swear i remember seeing even a fully stocked bar housed on the second floor.

Folks - this place - man oh man - if only i knew then what i know now. 😜 Built in the mid 1860’s by Czech Olympic Gymnasts - this place has insane history, in the best of ways. Velvet Underground (Lou Reed) even performed a handful of concerts here and Andy Warhol was also a regular.

If only we knew then what we know now… but let’s be real—we were just kids. We wouldn’t have cared either way. 😜
