15 years. 15 years since I moved to New York. No job. No apartment. Just my suitcase and a dream. Staying with the only friend I knew in NYC til I landed a job. I found Devachan 2 weeks later and place to sublet shortly after that. Devachan the founders of DevaCurl. I stayed there for almost 12 years til they closed in June 2022. There I learned all about curls. How to wash , style , cut , color and care for in general.
The Pintura method drew me in from the start. I had never seen a highlighting technique like it. Created by one of the salon founders Denis DaSilva and made specifically for curls. I knew I had found my reason for leaving everything behind and moving here. I found my niche and my new passion.
I found a purpose greater than myself. To be a part of a movement that would change the hair industry forever. A salon where every texture of curl was welcome and the techniques and products were created specifically for them.
My hair may not be curly but that didn’t stop me from knowing this was where I was meant to be.
15 years experience being a curly color specialist. 3 years working for myself.
A huge thank you to all my clients for trusting this girl whose hair and skin color may not resemble your own. In an industry that didn’t know how to give you what you needed in order to be yourself and love yourself.

I’ve had different people ask me over the years how I do curls all day and “wouldn’t I get bored the same thing every day?”
That answer is no. Will always be no. 15 years in and I can’t see myself going back to straight hair. It’s the curly life for me! Just look at all the variations of color I get to create on all different textures. It literally never gets old!
