The biggest day of Katelyn Pope’s life is only 3 months away. ❤️

The 27-year-old is preparing to marry her fiancé, Jacob, the day after Christmas.

But before she walks down the aisle, Katelyn is facing one of the biggest battles of her life.

In July 2024, Katelyn, a non-smoker, was diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma. Doctors told her the cancer was incurable and extremely difficult to treat.

For a while, an oral medication helped. But this past June, doctors discovered two spots on her liver.

Now, Katelyn is preparing to begin a clinical trial treatment that could be one of her final options.

Yet through all of the uncertainty, she refuses to give up hope.

“I choose joy.”

Katelyn recently finished nursing school, and despite the tears and difficult days, she continues to lean on her faith and believe that better days are ahead.

“I may not be okay with this, but I’m okay with how He has taught me to carry this.”

She knows the road ahead won't be easy, but she continues to smile, believe and cherish every blessing.

Her wedding day is waiting.

Just 6 weeks ago, Andy Walker’s life changed in a devastating accident.

The 48-year-old father was only a few hundred yards from his home in Foley, Alabama, when a crash struck the driver’s side of his car.

Andy suffered a severe brain injury, 12 broken ribs, a broken femur, a broken humerus, skull and spinal fractures, and internal injuries. His daughter Blakely was also in the vehicle but thankfully suffered only minor injuries.

Andy was rushed to Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola, where he underwent his first of at least six surgeries. After weeks of intensive care, he was transferred to Shepherd Center in Atlanta, where he now spends long days in physical, occupational and speech therapy.

And Andy is fighting.

He is off the ventilator and breathing on his own. He can now sit unsupported for short periods, eat meals, get into a wheelchair, and is working hard on standing, reaching and coordination.

Even simple tasks require tremendous effort and a full team of caregivers.

His sister Katie says Andy continues to amaze everyone with his progress. His brain is still healing, and there are moments of confusion—like when a speech therapist asked his name and Andy confidently answered, “Michael Jackson.”

But he is actively processing, following commands and making progress every day.

Andy’s wife Nikki and their daughters, Blakely and Ellie, remain his biggest motivation.

There is still a long road ahead. Doctors have also found a blood clot in Andy’s leg, and when he eventually returns home, he will need 24/7 care.

But Andy is fighting his way back—one day, one step and one small victory at a time.

PRAYERS UP for a 26-year-old mother of three who never knows when her next seizure will strike.

Charis Lawson is a young mom raising three little boys, ages 5, 3 and 2. But her life has been turned upside down by frightening seizure episodes that, at their worst, were happening as often as every 10 minutes.

Her mother, Denise of Poteet, Texas, says Charis experiences focal impaired-awareness epileptic seizures as well as psychogenic nonepileptic, or functional, seizures.

During some episodes, Charis may stare into space and become unresponsive. Sometimes she responds when her name is called, but afterward, she remembers nothing.

Thankfully, her episodes have improved to about an hour apart. But that is still enough to prevent this young mother from safely returning to her caregiving job.

And there is something heartbreaking about that.

Charis spends her days helping care for others.
Now, she is the one who needs care.

Her family says the seizures have been happening unexpectedly, and doctors at University Hospital are continuing to search for answers. A 72-hour continuous video EEG at home is planned, along with physical and occupational therapy and evaluation by a specialist who treats functional seizures.

For her family, the biggest hope is simple: answers, safety and healing.

Her mother is asking for prayers, well wishes and support for Charis and her three young sons.

🙏 PRAYERS UP for a mother who has been waiting more than a month to hold her newborn baby.

Claudia, a 30-year-old mother from Laredo, Texas, gave birth to her baby boy, Eli, by C-section on August 6.

But instead of bringing her newborn home, Claudia became critically ill with sepsis.

Her family says she developed severe pain and difficulty breathing before doctors discovered that the infection had affected her kidneys and lungs.

Then, while Claudia was fighting for her own life, newborn Eli developed a serious infection and had to be transferred to Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

A mother and her newborn were suddenly forced to fight for recovery far away from each other.

More than a month later, Claudia still has not been able to see her baby in person.

But there has finally been some encouraging progress.

Her family says Claudia has recently been awake and alert. She has been able to eat some soft food, drink Gatorade and communicate by mouthing what she needs because she still cannot speak.

She continues to experience fevers, and doctors have not yet said when she will be able to leave the hospital.

Meanwhile, her sisters are caring for little Eli, taking turns around their work schedules while Claudia continues to recover.

Claudia has only been able to see her baby through photos and videos.

🙏 PRAYERS UP for four young children who are now facing life without their mother.

Desiree Gauna was only 27 when police found her fatally shot inside her Austin, Texas apartment.

When her family couldn’t reach her that morning, her sister Victoria called police and requested a welfare check. Officers arrived and discovered Desiree had been killed.

Investigators say her death was connected to another tragic loss. Authorities in Austin and Bastrop say 20-year-old Mariana Montoya Palacios was also killed in a separate city by the same man, who reportedly later took his own life.

Two young women lost their lives far too soon.

But Desiree’s family wants people to remember that her life was so much more than the tragedy surrounding her death.

She was a daughter, sister, aunt and friend — someone her loved ones describe as loving, funny and full of personality.

Most importantly, she was Mommy to four children: Aleeah, Aniyah, Arianna and Giovanni.

Her youngest is only 2 years old.

As these children grow up, their family hopes they will always know how deeply their mother loved them and how much her life mattered.

💔 **PRAYERS UP for Kentucky State Trooper Hayden Phillips, who was shot and killed while serving on duty.**

Hayden was patrolling Interstate 65 in Warren County when he was fatally shot, according to Kentucky State Police. He had served with the Kentucky State Police since 2023 after previously working with the Glasgow Police Department.

Being a Kentucky State Trooper was the career Hayden had dreamed of.

But behind the badge was a husband, a father and a son.

He leaves behind his wife, Jordan, and **three children** who expected their husband and dad to come home.

Kentucky officials described Hayden as a devoted husband and loving father. His family and friends are now facing a loss that words cannot fully express.

Authorities have identified a suspect in the shooting and say he should be considered armed and dangerous. Police are continuing the search.

Tonight, please remember the family left behind.

A wife lost her husband.
Three children lost their father.
And a community lost someone who dedicated his life to serving others.

🙏 **PRAYERS UP for 20-year-old Texas college student Jack Malouff.**

What started as a night at a lake with friends turned into a devastating accident. Jack dove from a dock into shallow water, struck his head, and suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury.

His family says Jack was underwater for about 30 seconds. When his friends pulled him from the water, he wasn’t breathing and had no pulse. CPR was performed, and thankfully, Jack survived.

But the injuries to his spinal cord are severe, involving areas including C2, C6 and C7. He is currently unable to move his arms or legs, and doctors have warned his family about the possibility of permanent paralysis and the need for assistance with breathing and eating. His long-term recovery is still uncertain.

And Jack is so much more than this accident.

He is a student at Austin Christian University, a young entrepreneur, and someone who was already working on ways to help others. Just days before the accident, Jack won a university business pitch competition and was preparing to compete in Colorado.

One of his projects, **Fosterly**, was designed to use AI to help young people aging out of foster care find benefits, manage important documents, pursue education and employment, and build a trusted support system called **“My Circle.”**

Now, Jack needs his own circle around him. ❤️

His family is asking people to pray specifically for his spinal cord, for his fever to come down, for strength through surgery, and for the ability to breathe, eat, talk and walk again.

Little by little, he began speaking again. Then he learned to swallow again and take small steps, although he still depends on a wheelchair.

His journey is not over. He continues to face treatment, with another procedure still ahead.

But everything Jenson has fought to regain since that life-changing surgery shows just how much strength can live inside a little boy. 💙🙏
