Being the Lead Flight Attendant on a 2-day trip is FUN but it can get BUSY!

Greeting passengers, preparing pre-departure beverages, making announcements, communicating with the gate agent, Captain and crew, assisting passengers and answering questions are all part of leading the flight sequence.

And that’s just boarding!

People see the uniform and travel, but Flight Attendants are safety professionals first.

Applications are now open for the 2027 hiring process, and trust me it’s a WHOLE PROCESS!

The application, assessments, interviews and training will test whether you’re ready to earn those wings.

Training prepares you to become a Flight Attendant, but you’ll learn the actual job on the line.

Getting out of bed every morning to take my medication has been one of the most painful parts of my recovery.

But the high in one of my lows is that I’m not doing this alone.

My husband has been my caretaker for the most part, and I don’t talk enough about how important that is to my health. He gives me my injections because, quite frankly, they freak me out. 😂

Without his support, I know I wouldn’t be as consistent with my care as I need to be.

I tried to handle all of my medications by myself one day and ended up taking the wrong injections. 🤦🏽‍♀️

That was a reminder that taking care of myself requires my attention too.

I pay close attention when I’m fulfilling orders. I double check products, packaging and shipments because someone is trusting me to get it right.

I have to give myself that same level of care.

Sometimes we get so busy minding the business that pays us, the family that needs us, the job that depends on us, and everything else on our list that we forget to mind our own business our body, our health, and ourselves.

Right now, I am part of the business that needs tending to.

And thankfully, I have someone beside me making sure I don’t forget it.

Three days before emergency surgery… I was here. ✈️

Working a full flight. Serving passengers. Doing my job at full capacity.

What nobody could see was that I had been in pain for the past few months.

I kept telling myself I could push through it. I was still functioning, still flying, still doing what I’ve done for years.

Three days later, I was in the hospital having emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder.

And now, for the first time in a long time, I really don’t know what comes next for me when it comes to flying.

When I started sharing more of my flight attendant life on this page, I wanted you to see the real woman behind Eloquent Skyne not just the products.

Well…this is part of the real life too.

For now, I’m recovering, listening to my body, and taking things one day at a time. The wings aren’t going anywhere. ✈️
