WE MIGHT HAVE TO QUIT VENDING. Not gonna lie y’all…this year has really had us questioning a lot.

As full time entrepreneurs who’ve been primarily events based, watching sales drop 50–70% at even some of our best events has honestly been scary and discouraging. We’ve had multiple moments this year where we’ve looked at each other like…is this still sustainable?

A lot has changed with how people spend, socialize and show up to events and we’ve definitely felt the impact of that. And after years of constantly traveling, vending and pouring everything we have into this business, we realized we can’t keep relying on events alone anymore.

But despite all of that…we’re still here 💚🫶🏾.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes on launching our new website and trying to build the next version of Sincerely Fearless in a way that’s more sustainable long term. This season may look different for us, but we’re choosing to pivot instead of give up.

To everyone who has supported us over the years whether you bought a pair of earrings, shared our content, stopped by our booth, reposted us or even just encouraged us when we wanted to quit…thank you. Seriously. Y’all have helped keep this dream alive for almost 15 years and we don’t take that lightly.

Whewww, this weekend easily is in our top 5 of worst vendor experiences of all time. We dealt with a pair of rude vendor coordinators who spoke to us as if they were chastising kids, we were yelled at and I was spoken to aggressively within 3 inches of my face for an extended period of time. Other vendors, attendees and presumably volunteers experienced this same treatment from these same two coordinators (twin sisters) on staff. We also experienced our tent flying away, two of our display boards got knocked over by the wind and someone attempted to steal multiple items from our booth at the end of the night. The attendance was low and we barely broke even with our expenses. I’ll have to do multiple parts to further go into the details, but my phone kept overheating and dying 😬. So here’s the start of the story atleast…

On a positive note, the support that we received from the attendees who did see our booth was amazing. Also the support that we received from you all online restored our faith in humanity. Much love to each and every one of you who shared kind words because honestly situations like this can make you want to quit. Being a full time entrepreneur in this climate is super challenging and scary but we love what we do. And a part of being Sincerely Fearless is overcoming obstacles and we overcame this weekend! Y’all our experience at the Powhatan County Fair has been terrible, I have never been spoken to so disrespectfully in my life. And they have been facetious from the very start of this event conflating numbers and making promises that they did not keep. Any of y’all who have interacted with us, know how sweet and jovial we are and that we don’t cause any issues. I literally was on the cusp of tears because I’m soooo upset and as bad as I want to match their energy and be nasty back, that is not who I am and I don’t want to stoop down to their level. I finally was about to talk to the eldest family member of the team and she was a sweetheart and calmed me down otherwise I was prepared to escalate things until I was treated with respect. Regardless today will be a great day and I will not allow this to steal my joy. Much love to all the vendor coordinators who are pleasant and organized, we appreciate y’all more than ever!

Hey 👋🏾 y’all, we’re officially on the road heading to Virginia for the Powhatan County Fair; so if you’re in the Richmond, VA area feel free to pull up on us this weekend. The fair hours are: Friday (today) 5pm-11pm, Saturday 1pm-11pm and Sunday 1pm-6pm! Wish us luck and safe travels!

It’s Day 3 of the Creating Change Conference and we planned to stay until tomorrow for Day 4 but we don’t want to risk getting caught up in the snow storm. So today’s our last day unfortunately, we’ve been having a blast and they’ve been showing us mad love. Gotta hit the road first thing in the morning and hope for the best!
