Today, I started offering massages at Aunt Susie’s Cancer Wellness Center.

I will be there twice a month to offer comfort in a safe environment where people who are battling with cancer and its survivors can relax and regain their strength.
I am humbled and also honored to be a support in their journeys.

Radiation Fibrosis - If you are experiencing tightness in the tissues or decreased joint movements after radiation therapy in the cancer treatment, you might have radiation fibrosis.
You might feel the hardened and thickened tissues in radiated area and have difficulty moving the limb in the affected area. It might start a few months after the treatment is completed.

Manual Lymph Drainage, massages and streches specific to radiation fibrosis can be helpful to support continuous recovery from cancer treatments. I can help you to improve safely from this condition and share my knowledge for self care. I have treated clients who suffered from this tissue changes, and they are feeling much better with softer skin and tissues and improved arm movements after the therapies.

Starting a new course today.
I have studied both oncology massage and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Now this will be a great course for me to serve better for my cancer clients.

Sometimes our lives get too busy, and we forget to prioritize our own bodies. We might have no time to quietly sit down all day. We might have a bit of time to rest, but our brains are often overwhelmed by thinking and planning, or stimulated by too much information from everywhere.
When we go to receive massage, we are committing to allow our body to relax and decompress both physically and mentally. Our phones are off, we can enjoy each massage stroke, and just be there for taking care of yourself.
When I give a massage, I am grateful for an opportunity to be calm. I love and enjoy that an important part of my work is to take a deep breath and tell myself "ok now, slow, down." And I realize that my clients are helping me to focus and be mindful, that's the time I really need when my daily life get too busy.
I applaud my clients' commitments to give the time to take care of themselves. We all need that time, and I am very thankful that they are giving me the time to slow myself down as well!
