This week at IRN we heard from Shasta Duncan of the Allstate Agency, who shared practical tips that could save homeowners and landlords thousands of dollars.
A few key takeaways:
• Insurance rates can change oquickly, so if you receive a quote you’re happy with, don’t wait too long to lock it in.
• New homeowner and landlord policies now offer valuable coverages like water backup, underground service line protection, building code upgrades, and higher replacement cost coverage.
• Replacement cost coverage can make a huge difference by replacing damaged items at today’s prices instead of their depreciated value.
• Don’t focus only on the premium—look at the overall value and protection you’re receiving.
• Take time to document your belongings before you ever need to file a claim. It makes the claims process much easier.
Shasta also shared her personal journey from California to Ohio and reminded us that helping people truly understand their insurance coverage is what she enjoys most.
Thank you, Shasta, for an informative presentation and for helping us better understand how to protect what matters most!

What a great IRN meeting this week!
A big thank you to Kim Moore, owner of KLM Benefit Solutions, for sharing practical information that can truly help people protect both their health and their finances.
Kim highlighted a new GLP-1 Bridge Program for eligible Medicare beneficiaries, which may make certain medications much more affordable for qualifying individuals. She also explained how accident, hospital, critical illness, and short-term disability plans can help cover the unexpected expenses that traditional health insurance often doesn’t.
Just when we thought the meeting couldn’t get any more interesting, four young men carrying a guitar walked in, introduced themselves, and asked if they could sing a song while raising gas money for their trip home to Missouri. They treated us to an impromptu performance that had everyone smiling. It was one of those unexpected moments that reminded us life is full of surprises—and that kindness still exists.
Meetings like this are why IRN is such a valuable group. We learn something useful, make great connections, and every once in a while we get an unforgettable story to tell.
Thank you, Kim, for another informative presentation, and safe travels to our unexpected musical guests!

He explained that recovery isn’t just for athletes. It’s an essential part of staying healthy, productive, and performing at our best, especially for busy professionals.

Due to the celebration of this country's 250th anniversary, the Huron County IRN meeting did not take place last week. Nonetheless, the organization stayed busy. They are now more focused on aiding our community in its celebrations.

Today’s IRN meeting was a little different. Instead of talking about products, services, or business strategies, we talked about something even more important—personal growth.
Tina Marie shared how our thoughts, habits, relationships, and mindset shape every part of our lives, from family and friendships to business success. The highlight was hearing Jen’s story of transformation through coaching, recovery leadership, stronger boundaries, improved communication, and learning to lead with grace instead of reaction.
One message stood out: growth often begins when we’re willing to be honest with ourselves. Sometimes the hardest step is simply walking through the door and asking for help.
Thank you, Tina Marie, for reminding us that personal development isn’t separate from business success—it is business success. When we become healthier, stronger, and more self-aware, every area of life benefits.

This week at IRN, we had the pleasure of welcoming Sandy Mesenburg, the owner of Somewhere Sandy Travel.
Sandy told us about how her 30-year military career sparked her love for travel and eventually led her to start her own travel business. Her time serving in places like Germany and Panama really opened her eyes to different cultures, people, and the incredible ways travel can change your life.
Now, Sandy helps clients plan stress-free vacations by taking care of all the little details, from getting around and where to stay to those special touches that make trips truly unforgettable. Her military experience has given her a knack for organizing, being flexible, paying close attention to the details, and a strong sense of service—all of which she now brings to every traveler she works with.
Sandy reminded us that travel is more than just seeing new places. It’s about making memories, building connections, and seeing the world from fresh eyes.
Thank you, Sandy, for sharing your story and your passion with our group!
“Whether you’re dreaming of a tropical beach, a European adventure, or the perfect cruise, Sandy is ready to help turn those travel dreams into reality.”
