: It’s all happening: After being delayed by COVID-19 for two years, ‘Almost Famous’ is set to open on Broadway next month. For Hollywood director Cameron Crowe, adapting his 2000 autobiographical movie for the stage was no easy feat.

“I knew we were in the right direction when it started to [have] that beautiful-happy-sad pain, as well as the giddy love of the music and where the music takes you,” Crowe tells V.F. “But it wasn’t always easy to kind of smile through sometimes.”

At the link in bio, the director reflects on bringing his beloved film to Broadway and how his late mother (famously portrayed by Frances McDormand in the 2000 film) gave her stamp of approval.
