Some seasons change you in ways you never expected. Today would have been my mom’s 66th birthday.

I’ve been wearing my hair in its natural waves in my mom’s favorite place because when you’re carrying the weight of loss, even the smallest acts of simplifying your day can feel like a gift; I can enjoy a little bit more with the extra time not devoted to styling.

This season has reminded me that there’s no prize for spending an hour on your hair if you don’t have an hour to give. Sometimes the best routine is the one that meets you exactly where you are.

As a hairstylist, that’s something I’m passionate about. I don’t just want to give you beautiful hair when you leave my chair—I want to help you understand your hair and teach you how to style it in a way that fits your life.

Whether you love a polished blowout, embrace your natural texture, or need a routine that gets you out the door in 10 minutes, your hair should support your life, not add more pressure to it.

Life has a way of shifting our priorities. I’ve learned to give myself more grace, and I hope my clients know they can do the same. Beautiful hair isn’t about perfection—it’s about feeling like yourself, whatever season you’re in. 🤍
