Dragonfly Silks

Carol Lorance and Megan Clements are local Oklahoma silk artists that together make up Dragonfly silks, a collection of framed silk paintings. Her neice Megan started silk paintng after being taught the art by Carol and immediatly was taken by the incredible art form. Megan started art at an early age and has always had a flare for anything involving creativity. She also has a background in architecture. They collaboratorate well together with their unique balanced, but seperate styles of painting.

Carol has a degree in Graphic Design from OKCCC in Oklahoma City. and became involved in silk art after seeing this painting style on a television program. She decided silk painting was a great expression of color and feeling. She is self taught in the art of silk painting and has been immersed in this media since 2009. Megan has a background in interior design, architecture and fine arts. She also has a bachelor's degreen in business administration from Southern Nazerene University.

Silk painting is an ancient Asian art form. Carol and Megan have discovered the fulfillment and joy of silk painting. The finest Chinese silk is used and framed. Permanent dye is used to paint on the silk.
