I asked my daughter to help me make banana bread.
“Mommy can you help me?”
“Be right there baby, just put the flour down, I’ll lower the bowl for you so you can pour it without making a mess.”
“Mommy you’re taking to long I’m going to just pour it.” Then pours flour all over the kitchen 🙃
Now I have a mess I have to clean up before I can help her accomplish. The task I asked for her help with. A task that was going to result in a delicious treat and the preservation of food before my bananas went bad 🙃. A task that was good and beneficial for the whole family.
Have you been there with God ever? He’s asks you to allow him to work through you to benefit yourself and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. At first you say yes, but it’s not happening in your time so you try to take things into your own hands!
I know I have been there
me: Jesus, I need your help, I don’t know what to do next.
Jesus: wait child I am arranging things to work smoothly within my will.
Me: Jesus you’re talking too long. Maybe you want me to take this into my own hands.
Then we take things into our own hands and there is a disaster mess that needs to be cleaned before God can help you move forward…
I know I have been here and I know I do this often! Last night God gave me a perfect image of what happens when I don’t wait to hear from him, when I try to take things into my own hands, when he has the answer and the solution and is trying to arrange things for me.. but I step in and disrupt the process. Don’t worry God can correct all of our mistakes because he is the Waymaker. But what would happen to the Kingdom if God if we just waited to hear from Him, if we trusted His process, and we waited with trust and patience. 💕 my goal this year is to be more trusting and more patient, my goal this year is to find out what happens when I wait.
