Hey ya’ll 🫶🏼 I wanted to come and just express my gratitude today.
We’re almost halfway through the year (crazy 🤪) and I felt like I haven’t gotten the chance to reflect.
What an amazing year it has been. And much of that gratitude stems from the work I get to do.
If you’ve been able to sit in my chair, I’m sure you know by now we get down to the nitty gritty over here. I love getting to know my guests and really celebrate each and every person. I feel honored to be the person you all trust with your crowns 👑
I’ve learned that being myself and keeping it real is the only way I can operate. I appreciate the energy and time I get from you all who come to see me.

While we’re in the new world of AI and social media is playing such a big role in our lives, I think it’s important we don’t lose the plot. And that’s real connection.
I am trying to keep my page as polished as possible, but at the end of the day, I’m a real person behind this page, and I enjoy interacting with real people.

We’re all doing our best, and I’m proud of all our wins and future wins! Let’s keep going, keep pushing, and give ourselves the space to be everything for ourselves. The second half of 2026 is going to be amazing I can feel it!!

What makes a good stylist from a great one?

1. Staying true to who you are.
Clients want us to be honest! As the artist our personal creativity is so valuable.
2. Be confident in yourself.
Clients feel every bit of uncertainty. Be strong in your decisions and execute them to the best of your abilities
3. Make the appointment about the client.
Really get to know who’s in your chair. It opens up so many avenues to help build trust.

At the end of the day we’re building relationships, and that takes work!

Working with curly hair doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

A lot of us just weren’t taught how to approach it in a way that feels clear and repeatable.

These are a few small shifts that can make a big difference in your clients experience and your confidence behind the chair. 😊

I’m Kiera, the face behind Curls by Kie.

I am a wife, mother to two beautiful daughters, sister, and friend to many. I have been a licensed cosmetologist for almost 10 years (come December 🥹)!

The role I have behind the chair is something I take with so much pride. I genuinely care about each and every person who chooses to sit in my chair and trust me with their hair.

My goal with each client is to have them leave better than when they came in. Whether that’s from a confidence boost, a whole new look, or from learning something new they can take home with them.

It’s an honor to be able to make people feel good for a living. And I’d like to think I’m pretty good at it 😉
