This is a client who chose to do a gradual silver transition process over time. We have completed two sessions so far. The first photo shows the end result after the second session. The second photo shows how her toner faded after the first session. The third photo is her result immediately after the first session, and the fourth photo shows her starting point, with years of layered box color and several inches of grow-out.

SO much detail went into this vivid color melt, and it was worth all the blood, sweat, and tears we put into it. First, we did a LOT of lightening. After that service was completed, we took small sections and colored each one slightly differently, melting one custom shade into the next.

We only rinsed with water when we were finished, followed by a K18 mask. She is coming back to me for her first shampoo so I can show you all how the color looks once it settles.

This took me some time, but the results were worth the level of detail that went into this work. Vivid colors are always so much fun, especially when the client gives me a little creative freedom.

She drives several hours to see me, so longevity is essential. For her, a customized gray-blending highlight is the most effective approach. I vary my stitch patterns throughout the head based on her natural gray distribution—not a one-size-fits-all formula. The placement is intentional, and the result is seamless, dimensional, and built to last.
Keep in mind, true low-maintenance color requires more time and investment than a traditional appointment. However, instead of coming in every three months, you can often extend your visits to six months or longer.

We used to create a higher-contrast, dimensional color for this client, but over the years we have transitioned to a softer approach. Yesterday, we focused on a customized gray-blending stitch pattern to seamlessly diffuse her natural gray.

The goal was to fully blend her grays using only strategically placed highlights—without the need for permanent color between foils—and the result was completely seamless.

Since she visits only twice a year, we finished with a soft root tap to ensure a smooth, low-maintenance grow-out between appointments.

This is the definition of low-maintenance gray blending, and I am in love with the result.
