Falls are not just a concern outside the home- they can happen in the places we feel safest.

A few simple changes can help reduce fall risks:

-Keep walkways clear
-Improve lighting throughout the home
-Add grab bars and non-slip surfaces where needed
-Wear supportive, properly fitting footwear
-Make sure canes and walkers are being used correctly

And don't ignore changes in strength, balance, dizziness, or mobility. These can be important warning signs that additional support may be needed.
