Lessons from Hive: Baby Bees
What you're seeing in this frame isn't honey. It's the next generation of bees.
The capped cells contain developing bees that will emerge as "baby bees" (they're actually adults) in about 21 days from the day the egg was laid. A solid brood pattern like this is one sign of a healthy, productive queen and a growing colony.

Weekends are for the bees... we might be running low on our beeswax lip balms for a bit. I decided to replace several frames and in doing so, the beeswax is needed for them. Waxing the frames encourages the bees to build comb faster and in a uniform way.
Birds chirping, hives humming... watching our "Green" girls come and go this evening.

Sometimes simplicity is just beautiful. These are 100% olive oil castile soaps. They take approximately one year to fully cure. Our first batch will be ready around the holidays.
Welp, sometimes soaping doesn't go as planned. When working with honey, things can heat up fast and cause the batter to seize. We'll try again for our summer time favorite "Watermelon Sugar" another day.
