I’ve had multiple brands and styles of dehydrator and this is hands down my favorite one. Easy to use, easy to clean, dehydrates at least 2x quicker than the plastic barrel style ones, and has a great price point. This things a year old and has probably been used 250/365 days…at least. 10/10 recommend.

Well, I hate to have to make this announcement but I had to cancel my attendance for Day Dream Farm Winery’s event tomorrow. With the air quality as bad as it is, and it being an outdoor event, I don’t feel comfortable being outside for 8 hours straight tomorrow! Everyone stay safe this weekend! Hopefully I’ll be able to book another event sometime soon! I plan on making up for it by doing an awesome sale this weekend so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Tahitian Vanilla Sun Butter

-grass-fed local tallow, non-nano uncoated zinc oxide, organic argan oil, organic jojoba oil, organic avocado oil, organic virgin coconut oil infused with Tahitian vanilla beans, local beeswax, and Young Living vanilla essential oil.

The main active ingredient in this is non-nano, uncoated zinc oxide. Non-nano essentially means it’s not small enough to pe*****te into the deep layers of your skin and be absorbed into your bloodstream, therefore maximizing its protection value by reflecting UV rays and decreasing any potential health risks that may be associated with absorption. A point worth mentioning is that nano zinc oxide is what’s typically found in commercial sunscreens and is usually coated, which helps maintain the stability and smoothness because it prevents the zinc from clumping. However, it’s easily absorbed through the skin and works by scattering UV rays instead of reflecting.

Most oils have a natural SPF to them but they are low and not enough protection on their own. I’ve chosen oils that not only hydrate and nourish skin, but also support the zinc in protecting your body’s biggest organ! Argan, jojoba, and avocado oil all have a naturally higher SPF value to them (anywhere from 5-20 depending on the concentrations). I’ve also added in organic virgin coconut oil that infused with Tahitian vanilla beans for 2 months! It will leave a very mild white cast due to the zinc but nothing compared to the commercial stuff!

And as a bonus, this is totally safe for marine life too!!! 🐠 💛

It’s recommended that you apply every 2 hours while in full sun, and reapply after 45 minutes of swimming. I still take other precautions with my family such as sun hats and long sleeve sun shirts on the kids when it’s gunna be a long day at the beach!
