BrainStorm; Anthony Yerman’s Glioma Journey

EDIT & UPDATE! (July 24th @10:18am)
- an EEG was done at 1:30am. Doctors came in this morning and confirmed that he brain bleed is gone, no sign of a stroke and NO SEIZURES were detected! So Anthony gets to go home and keep his job lol 🙃👏👏

- We’re not sure exactly what he was feeling. Could be anxiety or possibly just some feelings he may have to get used to due to treatment damage.

⚡️ Life as of latley ⚡️

Monday Anthony had his routine every 2 month MRI downtown and a doctor visit right after. The tumor area is STABLE 🙌🏼 They did find a “tiny” brain bleed they were just going to keep an eye on. Measuring less than a mm. Could be caused by treatment. Not uncommon with his condition and history.

Today he was feeling some left side body tingling, dizziness, and weakness so we decided to head to Mentor Cleveland Clinic ER where they did a CT scan, an EKG and an MRI. Everything came back “normal” and we even found that the hemorrhage has resolved itself and is no longer being seen on any images! 👏👏 (worth the visit to be told that and put some anxiety at ease)

But… UNFORTUNATELY with the symptoms that he was having his neurologist wants him to be admitted to Hillcrest so he can be hooked up to an EEG to make sure that those feelings/symptoms he was having weren’t focal seizures. 🤞 fingers crossed and prayers they were not! Hopefully it’s a quick visit 😅 (been here since 9:30am already)

Also Anthony was due for his last round of chemo at the end of June. They had to put it on hold because of an infection in his mouth from some tooth issues. He’s going Tuesday the 28th to have oral surgery to resolve that. He then should get the okay to do his last chemo round 👏👏🖤🧠

⭐️ No news is good news ⭐️

Just wanted to jump on here and update for anyone curious. Things have still been going smooth!

MRIs lately have shown no signs of growth which is what we’re looking for! ✅

He is officially more than halfway done with chemo!

Symptoms are still very mild and manageable


Since I get asked often I figured I’d put it out there for those we don’t see or talk to daily 🙃

⚡️UPDATE⚡️

Second round of chemo completed while camping Labor Day weekend 🏕️✅ 10 rounds to go!
Light nausea, minor headaches but overall he’s feeling okay!

11 weeks post radiation and the hair growth has been promising!

Next MRI and doctor visit is in two weeks 👏🏼
And thankfully he gets to return to work October 1st!

⚡️ UPDATE ⚡️

Monday Anthony went for his first MRI since completing radiation ☢️

Tuesday he talked with his epilepsy doctor. After a long 3 months of no driving, they cleared him to be mobile again. Unfortunately they still want him to wait another 3 months to return to work

Today (Wednesday) we met with his oncologist and radiologist. Radiology is completed and they will be stepping behind the scenes. They are pleased to see he is healing as normal and his hair growth is expected to see best results by 3-6 months. Apparently the radiation will contine to do its job for a while after recieving treatment.

Oncology explained that this scan is not a result of the radiation but more of a new baseline. They said everything looks great and as expected. They also explained more in depth about the TMZ chemo treatment he will be on for a year which will be starting early August. Symptoms should be pretty mild 🤞🏼 They will monitor his labs every 4 weeks, meet with him monthly, and do an MRI every 2 months.

Here’s how radiation is going ☢️

Today was #15. 3 full weeks and he started losing some hair over the weekend so we decided to just buzz it.
