Planning out my week ahead and I realized we are already moving into April… It made my chest tighten a little.
Life can feel like it is moving so quickly, one day turns into a month, a month into a year. Before my anxiety took over, I took a moment to ground myself. Feeling my feet on the floor and taking a slow breath in and a slower breath out.
I can’t slow the world down, but I can slow my breath. If things have been feeling a little fast for you too, let this be your reminder to pause for a few deep breaths.

I love watching people move in their bodies. One of the things I notice most as a teacher and massage therapist is how different each body is and moves. Two people can be in the same pose and have totally different experiences. Nature reminds me of this too. No two branches grow the same way, yet each one finds its own way to bloom.
Yoga guidance works best when it meets the unique person practicing it. That’s why thoughtful sequences balanced with individual attention and modification suggestions matter.
If you have been thinking about starting or returning to yoga, my classes are a place to move at your own pace and practice in a way that supports your body. For more information check out www.yogamatka.com

Spring Equinox Hike
As we move toward the Spring Equinox, I am looking forward to gathering outdoors to mark the change of season. On Sunday, March 22, we’ll meet for a sunrise hike, a few rounds of sun salutations, and share a simple potluck breakfast together.
If welcoming spring with movement, fresh air, and community feels right to you, I’d love to have you join us.
If you would like to come, feel free to message me and I’ll send the details.

There’s strength in moving slowly.
Steadiness builds awareness. Steadiness builds resilience. Steadiness builds trust in your own body.
Progress doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like showing up consistently. Sometimes it looks like choosing rest.
Both are part of the work.

If you want to get lost in a crowd or hide in the back of the class, this is not the studio for you.
Classes are intentionally small.
You’ll be seen. You’ll be supported. You’ll be offered modifications that meet your body where it is today.
This space isn’t about performing. It’s about learning and building strength steadily while staying connected to yourself.
If that feels right to you, there’s space here.

“The deep roots never doubt spring will come.”
— Marty Rubin
Root to Rise.
Ground deeply.
Rise powerfully.
As we move toward spring,
I am reminded of unseen work happening beneath the surface.
The anchoring, the foraging for nourishment and the quiet tending of symbiotic relationships.
Self-care isn’t always visible. What we nurture now becomes what we rise into later.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a lasting yoga practice. Strength isn’t created through intensity, it’s shaped through consistency over time.
Committing to your practice is committing to yourself: to your nervous system, to your strength, and to your long-term well-being.
Some days will feel centered and strong. Others may feel heavy and slow. What matters most is staying in relationship with yourself through all of it and showing up, no matter how you feel.
Your practice isn’t formed in a single class.
It grows in the returning week after week.
