This is the most asked question from stylists and clients!

I choose to use an “Hourly Exchange” for so many reasons (and 2ish years later I’m still loving it)

Some more clarity on why I use this method:

-I’ve invested in techniques, and product lines that are *fast (my average maintenance appointment is 1.5 Hours)

-We’re able to do whatever YOU need that day. Don’t need a haircut but your scalp is irritated and could use a treatment? No need to do mental math gymnastics in the chair- our time is transparent.

-Tipping is rooted in systems of oppression. As a business owner this is one way I can remove harmful systems from my practice. (If your service provider still accepts gratuity- please tip generously- they may be depending on that!)

There’s a lot to unpack here if you’re a stylist, but one of my favorite things about this system is that my clients love it! Because it’s simple 👏🏼
*my techniques and products are fast- and they’re also the gentlest I’ve found. “Low & Slow” is true for foils- but the color/balayage world I live in has different rules.

I feel a photo shoot coming on…

Every now and then I get that itch to create with no boundaries. I’ve been dreaming up a multi-person photoshoot for a while now.

I haven’t set a date yet but if you’re interested in being a muse: open to giving over creative control (we will discuss your boundaries before starting), and comfy (or willing to be in uncomfortable lol) in front of a camera- let me know and I’ll keep you in the loop 🌈

Even though I do ask for permission to use your pictures- I still feel kinda weird sharing my clients personal details like names and faces on social stuff (unless you’re super enthusiastic about it)….

Like I always say my chair is a sacred space that you can trust to be your private time.

Transparency Statement: the goal for this is to create community- THAT’S IT. Yes, there will be advertising for offerings so that we can build each other up- but this is purely a way to connect. Now more than ever we are independent entrepreneurs, suite renters, artists working from home & have less access to in-person opportunities that build ourselves and our communities up. Even as an introvert community is needed!

2022 was a year of intense reflection on how I want to show up in this work. I genuinely believe that what I get to do every day working 1:1 with you (other humans) is a gift and should be treated with respect and care.

As a business owner with privilege I also believe that I have a responsibility to my community to continually reevaluate if the ways I do business are aligned with my ethics and the state of the world. If you’ve been in my chair this year you’ve seen these practices in place- and you’ve been SO supportive and encouraging.
