In 2026, the phenomenon of is less about glitter tears and rhinestone liner and more focused on high contrast, bombshell, nostalgic Hollywood glam. Think frosty lids, tightlining with brown liner, juicy skin—with references including Rihanna, Kate Moss, Gabriette, Hailey Bieber, and even makeup artists Katie Jane Hughes and Alexandra French, a former Euphoria makeup artist herself.
Reporter Kirbie Johnson went back into the trailer for season three for an exclusive “look and learn” at what aesthetics we’ll see in what may very well be the show’s last season. Here, we share exclusive images from the trailer, including Davy’s mood boards and stills from the set.

The hair and makeup room backstage at the Oscars is a place of quiet and cosmetics amidst the commotion—where stars stop in to relax, hide out, and have their hair and makeup touched up before going on stage to present. “When you walk into makeup, it’s very zen. It's the kind of place where people want to go to collect their thoughts,” says Bruce Grayson, the head makeup artist for the Academy Awards for over two decades.
Grayson is in charge of making sure that every person who steps onto the Dolby Theatre stage—celebrity presenter, musical performer, member of the Academy—feels and looks like their best selves. He’s powdered the nose of everyone from Salma Hayek to Meryl Streep and is prepared for any cosmetic emergency, whether that’s a rogue false lash or a smudge of lipstick on a tuxedo collar. In anticipation of this year’s awards, Grayson shares at the link in comments what it’s like touching up Hollywood’s biggest stars on the industry’s biggest night—and the beauty products he uses to do it.

This week, won a Golden Globe for her role in and Allure contributor would like to acknowledge her unremarkable, unadulterated—yet totally extraordinary—face: “It’s a symphony, guiding us through the movie’s plot with violent chords of rage and sorrow, graced with harmonious notes of tender affection,” she writes in her latest story for Allure. And it inspired a question: What is a face for? And another one: In recent years, have we been in the process of losing the face’s primary function? “The face is so important to our social fabric that there’s an area of the brain—called the fusiform face area—devoted exclusively to decoding it,” says Monroe. “When facial expressions are reduced or largely eradicated, communication is distorted.”
As evidenced in part by an increasing number of real, human faces appearing on our screens lately, Monroe believes that we are finally recognizing this threat to our harmony and community. Stars like Keri Russell and Claire Danes on the younger end; Olivia Coleman, Parker Posey, and Robin Wright in the mid-range; more mature luminaries Kathy Bates, Helen Mirren, Catherine O’Hara, and Jean Smart—none of them have taken the Kris Jenner route. Each of their faces is irreducibly unique. “That feels like more than a handful of resistance,” says Monroe. So, she’s calling it: 2026 will mark the dawn of a new era. At the link in our bio, read more about her reasoning. Then let us know if you agree: Is the backlash to facial conformity upon us?

Such beautiful words. I love my work and this makes it even more special. 🩷
She had the wrong extensions; someone in her wedding party wore them! All she had was a synthetic, frizzy one-piece halo extension. I cut it, shaped it and with a lot of product and faith I made it work! It actually looked beautiful!
