Some gifts for the new space given by my family and the team at Puccinis. When dealing with hair it's important not to get stuck where you are or in the past but to embrace change and look to the future. But what I've also found is that it's healthy to have a proper respect for the past because how can you drive on a road that they paved without doing so. Language builds upon language. Roads lead us to new roads and hair technique upon hair technique and now at the age of 45 I understand that all my Dad's life he was subtly training those who he couldn't live without to one day be able to live without him. And so shall we pay that forward. These gifts mean more than words can describe and although they were meant for the new space we found a place for them now because although we plan for tomorrow it's not promised. With Love, Sal Jr.

This month for our founders Birthday Friday April 11th we are taking donations to help a diaper drive which gives out free diapers to those in need on the third Saturday of the month. If you'd like to contribute you can stop by and leave some change. Sincerely, Sal Jr

To those of you who have ever wondered about the painting on our bathroom door. Sal Puccini painted this with direct dye hair color prior to his retirement back around 2017. It took 2 weeks to dry! After his passing we have taken a notice to how much of his touch still exists in this space while still improving on the things needing maintenance 😃 next time you stop in feel free to ask if you'd like to see it in person. Or if you just need to use the restroom!

It's with great sadness we announce the passing of our founder, mentor and hero Salvatore at the age of 76. When he started in the 70's his last name of Molitierno was unprounceable so he took on his childhood nickname of Puccini. He worked his way from welfare to opening and operating multiple salons and providing service to millions of clients up until his retirement in 2018. He got to see his 50th wedding anniversary, 50th year of business and had a good final holiday season with his family in Pittsburgh since 2017, instead of Florida, before his unexpected passing Thursday Jan 9th. The tears we have are ones of appreciation and love rather than regret. All are welcome to attend his viewing and funeral at Wylie Funeral home in Penn Hills this Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. With love, The Puccini Hair Family

Our 50 Year Anniversary. This is one of those months that we knew was coming but in the presence of working on our new space down the street our existing friends hair projects it was put in the back of our minds. I guess you could say we were so focused on the present and the future that the past snuck up on us. It's with all our heart and gratitude to all of our friends and staff present and past that we take a moment to remember the path that was started in April of 1974. Today the founders Salvatore and Beverly are enjoying retirement in Florida while we continue servicing all of our friends in the greater Pittsburgh area 😀 Sincerely Sal Jr and the Team at Puccini's

We just learned of the passing of my mentor and Cranberry Salon manager Julia Scheidemantle. She served in our company for 30 years until its closure a decade ago. There was no funeral. No obituary. No photos to share other than the one of the salon that she built and called home for all those years. When she came to our company as a young stylist she shortly learned that she was losing her vision and had a fork in the road. Retire from hair or step into management. Over the course her career she coached well over 200 artists and presided over hundreds of thousands of hair services and built it into one of the top salons in Cranberry. One kid in particular I remember came to work there in the late 90's and she saw the potential in him in spite of all his flaws. She would challenge him to live up to it by showing him what was possible in spite of one's physical limitations. Showing up to work early and to have a heart to serve not just the clients but her staff. I remember one day the kid and her got into a tiff and he turned his back on her and said I don't have to listen to you as he walked away. To which she stood her ground and said "I'm blind not deaf. One day this will be yours but with that attitude no one will follow." She held him accountable and never gave up on him. That kid was me and I stand before you all today a humbler person that tries to pay the lessons that she taught me forward to you all now. If I have one word of encouragement to you all it would be this. If you have someone that mentored you please reach out to them before its too late. Or feel free to leave their name here. Sincerely, Salvatore

We appreciate everyone who's reached out. Our senior stylist and friend Lindsay lost her brother this weekend to a senseless act of violence. We are sharing this to help raise funds for the funeral. If you'd be so kind to consider donating thank you so much and for our friends who might not be in a position to do so please share the link. When one of us hurts we all hurt and we will do our part to help where we can. Sincerely, The Team at Puccini's https://www.gofundme.com/f/alex-yerkey

Winding down our season with the University of Pittsburgh's graduation followed by CMU and the rest in a few weeks. If you've been wondering why we haven't been posting a lot this past year it's because we've been so busy thanks to all of you that other than live videos we really haven't had time to do photo shoots. Looking forward to the summer where we can hang out, chat and do some fun shoots 😀 congrats to the class of 2021 and all of you for being so kind. The team at Puccinis
