Milk test results are in! 🥛✨
The girls have been doing great and staying fairly steady through all of my chaos this year. My milking schedule hasn’t always been a perfect 12/12, and changes in our hay and grain supply have definitely played a part, so overall I’m pretty happy with how everyone is doing.
Riot is still firmly protesting the fact that she is, in fact, a dairy goat. 😂 I’m going to keep her going as long as possible, but my carpal tunnel and elbow have definitely been feeling her little milk-stand dance routine!
Even with everything, I’m feeling pretty confident that I can get everyone fairly close to a 305-day lactation this year. Proud of these girls and excited to see how they finish out their records! 🐐🥛
Mocha has decided she prefers human company over hanging out with the other goat kids. 😂
So now she spends her days running around with the humans, chickens, and the pup instead. She will even patiently curl up and sleep on the steps while she waits for someone to come outside and play with her.
The chickens are currently bigger than she is and are still not quite sure what to think about this tiny bouncing creature following them around. Mocha isn’t entirely sure she belongs with them either, but she sure keeps trying. 😂 🐓

She happily gets on the milk stand for the grain, but the second milking starts, the side eye begins. Apparently this was not the career path she chose.
We may disagree, but we’ll keep going. 🥛🤣
✨ Phoenix is not entirely sure how she feels about Lieu using her as a personal face-scratching post. 😂
These two can often be found butting heads, testing boundaries, and deciding who is actually the queen bee around here. 👑🐐 They are definitely the top two in the pecking order, and neither one seems willing to hand over the crown.
But some days, they call a temporary truce and just chill together like none of it ever happened. ✨

When Mom was visiting, we made homemade Brötchen. 🤍
There is something about the smell of fresh Brötchen baking that instantly makes me feel at home and cozy. Growing up in Germany, we had an old bakery right outside our door, kitty-corner from us. We would run over to buy fresh Brötchen and pastries, and it is still one of my favorite childhood memories.
It is funny how a smell can bring you right back home. 🇩🇪✨

🌼✨ Something is quietly brewing around here…
Two new slow infusions officially started today.
One is a rich blend of calendula + chamomile, soaking up every bit of goodness the slow way. The other… well… that’s staying a secret for now. 🤫🌿
And speaking of new… I’m on the final step of infusing something that smells absolutely incredible. It’s warm, cozy, and just plain yummy. If everything turns out the way I’m hoping, it’ll be released in very limited quantities so it may never even make it to the website.
Sometimes the best things just take a little patience. 🌿✨

The sunrise, fresh milk, and a little goat attitude make the early mornings worth it. ✨🐐

Riot is on the left, Bellatrix is on the right, and Gummi Bear is claiming the bed behind them.
Riot is still making it very clear she does not approve of this whole milking thing. 😂 She’ll hop right onto the milk stand for her grain, but once the milking starts, it’s all protest. She sure does have a cute little udder, though!
Bellatrix is fully embracing the lifestyle of eating, lounging, and looking adorable.
Meanwhile, Gummi Bear has been hard at work since March and has definitely earned her nap.
