A little introduction for those of you who are new here!
I’m Jenn. Herbalist, momma, adventurer, maker, gardener, and lifelong lover of plants. I’m the hands behind Wilderness Maven Apothecary, where you’ll usually find me bottling tinctures, blending tea, stirring salves, dreaming up new formulas, and generally making a beautiful mess of my days in the best possible way.
My love affair with plants began many years ago and has only deepened with time. I’ve come to believe that some of the most profound forms of medicine are not complicated at all. They are found in the garden, the forest, the kitchen, in the things we tend and the things that tend to us.
When I’m not in the apothecary, I’m happiest somewhere a little wild. You might find me sinking my bare toes into the earth, wandering the woods, tending a gloriously unruly garden, cooking things, gathering things, or following my children into whatever little adventure the day has decided to offer us.
I’m endlessly enchanted by the small things. The first rose of the season. The smell of rain. Golden light through the trees. The way a child discovers something for the first time. The quiet magic of making something with your own two hands.
I believe we are part of this living world, not separate from it. There is beauty and medicine all around us, if we slow down enough to notice. Tending a garden, brewing tea, making a tincture, cooking a meal, raising children, walking beneath old trees, and gathering around a table with good people can all be healing acts.
So, hello. I’m Jenn. I’m so glad you’re here. And if you’re new to the apothecary, I hope you’ll come say hello next time you’re in the shop. I’d love to know what brings you here, what you’re growing, what you’re reading, what you’re brewing.
There is always room for more around the table.

Everything alive is medicine. The growing things. The flowering things. The creatures who move quietly through the edges of our lives.
The trees that hold their ground through every season. The herbs we gather with our hands and steep in hot water.
The wild things we are lucky enough to encounter.
And perhaps there is medicine in death, too.
Content warning: the third photo contains a deceased coyote.
I came across her at the farm recently, while on a beautiful walk with my son. My son is still learning about life and death and seasons and cycles and yesterdays and tomorrows. His perfect innocence brought him joy to talk to the coyote and led him to say, “See you soon!” as we departed back home. And I realized, maybe he’s right.
There is something humbling about finding an animal at the end of her life. To encounter a wild being not as an idea or an image, but as a body returned to the earth, is to be reminded of the great cycle we are all part of.
I gathered some Queen Anne’s lace and laid the flowers gently over her heart, an offering for her onward journey.
Not because I imagine that death is an ending, but because I believe the energy of a life does not simply disappear. The body returns to soil. The spirit moves onward. What was once fur and bone and breath becomes nourishment for the grasses, the trees, the insects, the birds. Life gives itself back to life.
Everything alive is medicine. And everything alive, eventually, becomes part of the medicine of the earth.
I feel incredibly lucky to have so much beauty and wildness around me at the farm. To witness the flowering and the fading, the arrival and the departure. To be reminded that the natural world is not separate from us, but something we belong to.
Sometimes the most sacred encounters are the quiet ones.
A wild animal.
A handful of flowers.
A moment of stillness.
A body returned to the earth.
May she travel onward gently.
May her body nourish what comes next.
May we remember to notice the wildness while we are here.

The Flower Attunement Tarot: Plants, Archetypes & the Art of Self-Reflection
Do you love plants? Are you curious about Tarot but unsure where to begin, or interested in exploring Tarot beyond traditional card meanings?
What if Tarot could be more than a way of seeking answers, and instead become a tool for seeing ourselves, our experiences, and the world around us from a new perspective?
Join botanical educator and founder of Primrose Apothecary, Felicia Howe, for an introduction to the Flower Attunement Tarot, a unique system that brings together Tarot archetypes, plant wisdom, the four elements, numerology, and flower essences.
Designed for both Tarot beginners and experienced readers, this class offers an accessible approach to understanding the deeper language of Tarot without relying on memorized card meanings. Together, we’ll explore the Major and Minor Arcana, the four elemental suits, numerology, archetypal energies, and the relationships between cards. At the heart of the Flower Attunement system is the connection between Tarot and the natural world. Each archetype is paired with a botanical ally and flower essence, creating an opportunity to connect the symbolic wisdom of the cards with the grounding and contemplative qualities of plants.
Rather than using Tarot to predict the future, we’ll explore the cards as a visual language for self-observation, emotional awareness, mindfulness, and personal transformation.
The cards don’t tell us what will happen.
They invite us to see what is happening.
Through guided exercises and a Flower Attunement reading, participants will learn how to step outside of an immediate situation, recognize patterns, consider new perspectives, and connect with nature as a source of reflection and grounding.
Come curious, whether you’re completely new to Tarot or looking to deepen an existing practice. No previous Tarot experience is necessary.
Each participant will receive a Flower Attunement Tarot deck to take home.
