When we think of feeding/fertilizing our plants, succulents are often not included, but these little pricks need love too!
We all know that feeding your succulents and cacti will help with the growth and overall appearance, but here are a few other reasons why providing additional nutrients is important!
🌵 Resilience: Well-fertilized succulents are better equipped to withstand environmental stresses such as drought, pests, and diseases. Adequate nutrients strengthen the plant’s immune system, making it more resilient and able to recover from damage more effectively.
🌵 Flowering and Reproduction: Some succulents produce flowers, and fertilizing can encourage blooming by providing the necessary nutrients for flower development. Additionally, fertilization supports reproductive processes like seed production and germination, aiding in the propagation of succulents.
🌵 Potted Succulents: Succulents grown in containers rely solely on the nutrients present in the potting mix, which can become depleted over time. Fertilizing replenishes these nutrients, ensuring the continued health and vitality of potted succulents.
🌵 Prevention of Nutrient Deficiencies: Insufficient nutrients can lead to deficiencies, which manifest as symptoms such as yellowing leaves, stunted growth, and poor overall vigor. Fertilizing preemptively helps prevent these deficiencies and maintains the plant’s optimal health.
It’s also important to remember that fertilizer is never a one-size-fits all and succulents require a much gentler formula, which is why our team created a blend specifically for the needs of succulents and cacti! Tap the post to shop our succulent plant food! ☺️
