Summer Is fading away and fall is right around the corner! With the ongoing pandemic, horrific forest fires, and all around social unrest, I’m glad to see that no matter how bad things get, the seasons continue to change reminding us that we have no choice but to keep moving forward as well. So if things are feeling overwhelming for you, and this past year has really done a number on your heart,
John 16:33 reminds us: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
I’m going to choose to take heart, and take charge of the things in my life I do have control over. but there are A LOT of things that we don’t have control over! and that’s frustrating! But it’s okay, because he has overcome this world 🌎. This is a post that I would usually only share on my personal page, but I just felt the need to share on here.
So today I’m choosing to look forward to the next season! New and exciting things are on the horizon people! We just have keep moving forward!
What is something you’re looking forward too? I’d love to hear in the comments!
P.S. this photo was taken last summer when beach fires were not temporarily illegal.

Let’s talk about Balayage.
What even is it?
Well, balayage is a coloring technique designed to get really seamless color by means of hand sweeping the color on the the hair creating custom dimension.
Have you considered getting balayage at your next appointment?
If you’ve been thinking about it, send me a texts or DM and we can chat about if it would be a right fit for you!

QUICK QUESTION: I know this is a hard one, but if you could use only ONE product (not including shampoo & conditioner) on your hair for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I would pick the Living Proof PHD Dry Shampoo because when I take the time to wash & style my hair, I want it to last as LONG as possible! This dry shampoo makes that possible for me because it contains ingredients that help repel dirt and oils so you can get the longevity out of every style. really pulled through for us and created an XL can of this must have product and us die-hards are SO grateful!

Thinking about a big chop?
Shorter hair doesn’t have to be boring, in fact, chopping your hair and changing up your look can feel SO liberating!
This is a look I did on my friend a few years ago, and you would not believe how much hair we chopped off! It was down to her mid-back, and so thick. I’ll never forget the look on her face when we were done. It’s was like pure hair freedom.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you love this look?

I have a confession to make... I haven’t had a haircut since last September!
Just thought it would be fun to share something random to make some of you who also haven’t gotten your hair done in a while like me, feel less alone haha.
Tell me something funny or random about yourself. I’m so curious to hear!

What drives you? For me, it’s always been spending time with my clients.
From the first time I meet them to my clients who have been in my chair since I started doing hair, it never goes beyond me how awesome my job is, and it’s because of them!
Thank you to my existing clients and to anyone new who books with me. I always appreciate you!

As we’re getting into the heat of summer I wanted to share 5 random things about me you may not know:
1. I was homeschooled K-12
2. My first job was as a server in an assisted living facility. Helped me pay for cosmetology school when I was 16.
3. I’m 1/4 Mexican, 1/4 Ecuadorian, and 1/2 English shmorgisborg
4. My first car was a 2005 red Toyota Corolla. I named him Mario. He served me well.
5. A huge passion of mine is cooking! When I was in high school I spent a few years trying to decide between culinary school and cosmetology school. You all know what path a ended up taking, and I have 0 regrets!
Do you relate to any of those 5 things? If so, tell me which ones below!

One of my all time favorite duos! Gives a really clean, fluffy, full texture without any of the dryness other more traditional volumizing shampoos and conditioners can leave. I would say that I use this on 65-70% of all my clientele. If you’re hair has been feeling weighed down, or you just have a hard time getting your hair to feel clean. One of the many amazing living proof wash & conditioning formulas could be the answer for you!
Ask me for more information at your next appointment!

This was a golden blonde balayage I did on my sister a while ago. Days after her appointment she told me she really wanted a perm. Your know what I said?... no
Have you ever had a hairstylist tell you no? You want to make a big change, you bring in photos, you’ve thought about it for a while so you make an appointment and you walk in and you tell your stylist and they say “No.” It can be a hard pill to swallow, but I’m going to challenge you and let you know that they are probably saying no for a reason.
As a hairstylist, my top priority is the integrity of your hair and I have to say “no” sometimes when I don’t think the hair can handle a big color change, short layers, chemical treatment. Does that mean I don’t want to do your hair? Absolutely not. Does that mean I want you to have hair left when you leave? Absolutely!
Now one thing I do say is “no, not right now but....” which is usually followed by a plan on how to get there one day. It may look like starting the process that day and laying out a plan of treatments, frequent trims, and a few months of slowly getting there.
Have you been thinking about making a big change? call/text/DM me to schedule a consultation with me today and let’s chat! I’d love to make a customized plan for you and chat!
