Fresh Pickins

Hundreds of dahlias make their way out of the fields each week, thanks to a pretty incredible farm crew. Somewhere between deliveries and everything else that keeps our Maine flower farm moving, owner Dan has been picking up his camera.

Here’s a little of what he’s been seeing lately!

As we wrap up August on the farm, we’re looking back at the animals we’ve found among the flowers, the bouquets we’ve built, and the memories we’ve made with our farm crew.

Thanks for being part of another summer with us. We love seeing your visits to the PYO fields, how you’re using our products, and where our bouquets end up after they leave the farm.

The days are getting shorter and a little cooler, and we’re starting to notice those first hints that summer won’t be here forever. But the fields are still full, and there’s plenty of the season left to enjoy.

Sometimes it's nice to zoom in on our favorite blooms.

There's so much going on inside a flower that we tend to miss from a few feet away. Spirals, mesmerizing patterns, pollen, and even microscopic ecosystems can be found within the petals.

Some love from the dahlia fields this past week. Which color are you loving the most?

We love that our farm crew is passionate about growing flowers here by the ocean in Maine. But they’re also photographers, artists, dancers, makers, and so much more.

We’re pretty lucky to have such a creative crew around here.
