Almost all commercial soaps use lard or tallow as their main ingredient. Lard is the fat of a pig, tallow is the fat from beef. A quick Google search of "Rendering Plant" will give you a lot of information about where commercial soap comes from. Another thing, why don't soap companies list the ingredients that are in their soap? Do you have any idea what chemicals you're putting on your body or subjecting your family to? Heck, Lever 2000 admits on their website that they test on animals. What's scary to me is that they freely admit this but don't list their ingredients on their webpage. Go ahead, check it out, we'll wait. Here at Uncle Joe's Soap Co. we will always tell you what's in our soap. And trust me, it's all good stuff. The ingredient list reads more like a menu than a science project. Things like: olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, goat milk, turmeric, paprika, honey, oats, lavender, saffron, bees wax, coca butter. We fragrance and color our soaps with 100% natural essential oils, herbs, spices and flora. Nothing artificial, ever, never. But please, don't eat our soap...Uncle Joe still has bad flashbacks to that time he swore in front of Mom and she went for the bar of Ivory.
