A perfect end to our day…sitting with the one and only Bill Blumensaadt

We loved catching up and sharing small business successes and challenges with one another at our new favorite spot in Catawba - the orchardbarandtable Garden Bar. Cozy chairs, summer breezes, incredible food and drink. I literally make a b line here as soon as we pull in the parking lot.

Those dinner rolls in the second pic are now my new favorite app. Oh my gosh, the most perfect blend of salty and sweet. Even Brian said “this wasn’t at all what I was expecting” as he licked the plate clean.

It’s been 12 years of loving the Blumensaadt family’s vision. You can swipe to see our very first picture taken here as we celebrated our anniversary back in 2014.

Sitting here in Marblehead, beautiful breeze blowing, acoustic live music, sharing some sips with my husband and realizing that today is the first day since September 8th, 1990 that I will not have a child living in my home with me.

Still trying to process these feelings…

Perhaps I’ll put them on paper soon, but for now…I’ll shed a few tears under my sunglasses.

You asked for it and it’s here!!! A super cozy, Westlake green Mock Neck!

I’ve had the pleasure of creating custom mock necks for the Westlake Cheer Team and the Westlake Soccer Team and NOW…I was asked to create a collection of items for their Homecoming Game - PINK OUT 💗💗💗

And although the mock neck is not pink and will not arrive until after Homecoming, I knew there was a lot of interest in Westlake for a mock neck, so I am including it in this collection AND…

Several mock necks have sold since we launched this morning, but my guess is that people will wish they ordered the pink ribbed crewneck. It is my most popular garment to date and the one everyone grabs, no matter what the color!

I’m not sure I’ve ever gone to the zoo without a child by my side. I went from being a child to being a mother in the blink of an eye and have enjoyed the zoo from the eyes of a child for as long as i can remember.

It was Brian’s idea to visit the John Ball Zoo and I loved every minute of it. We took the Funicular up the hill and made our way back down by foot looking at the beautiful animals in their large and thoughtful spaces. The animals I could have stood and watched for hours? The lions. So LARGE and majestic. Too far away from me to grab a picture, but they were so beautiful.

We then drove to Wealthy Street for a tiny bit of shopping and a DELICIOUS lunch at THAI TABLE Usually I would order the Pad Thai, but I wanted to try something different so ordered the Thai Boat Noodle. If I lived here, I would get this every single day. So flavorful and good!

We then jumped over to the Wi******er for some sunshine and patio sips and ended our day grabbing a seafood platter at Real Seafood Co Grand Rapids and watching 9 to 5 😊

Heading home now after a PERFECT stay at JW Marriott They gave us the very best room facing the river. Room 515 if you’re ever there!

Happy holiday weekend!

Yesterday, we started our day with the most incredibly leisurely boat ride up and down the Kalamazoo River. It was overcast and slightly cool making it absolute perfection. We grabbed a restored vintage boat from Retro Boat Rentals Saugatuck - These boats are from the 50’s and 60’s that now use an electric motor instead of gas.

We ate and shopped our way through Saugatuck and ended our day grabbing dinner in Grand Rapids.

We ended our day sitting at the IDC (I don’t care) Lounge idontcaregr at the Amway Grand Plaza and people watching the night away. We had so much fun here!

The last slide shows my husband measuring his love for me…and although it sounds like a laugh track from the machine, it was truly the other shoppers watching us 🤣

I love my life with this man 💕

In an effort to get away, explore a new area and just be together once a month, we are in Western Michigan this weekend 💕

One of the main reasons we are here is because I’ve been wanting to attend The Found Cottage Mercantile Market for quite some time. Started about 9 years ago, it is very reminiscent of The Summer Market and as many of you know, I always dreamed of just being a customer at The Summer Market…so now was my chance!

After a brutally rainy start to the day, the skies opened up as the gates opened. Perfect timing! We purchased VIP tickets that were worth every penny. You get 3 hours of leisurely “first dibs” shopping before they open the gates to thousands of others.

As we were on our way into a booth when we arrived, I saw the booth next door and was immediately pulled into it. (a “SQUIRREL” moment I often have while shopping) As I was looking through some of the pieces, Brian said “this is Brad and Jess’s booth!” Of course it was 💕

I was so excited to bump into several of my incredibly sweet and talented friends Jess M Greene TWIG Brimwick Collective and The Vintage Vice as I truly adore them 💕

In the next year or two we will be renovating our kitchen. It was on our 5 year plan when we purchased our home in Avon Lake and here we are, 26 years later!

I loved being able to start gathering items for this project. I found vintage glassware from France, a great creamy white frame that will house something TBD, some delicious ironstone and this FABULOUS sign from The COTTON SHED®️™️ that was my most favorite pick of the day! I got so many compliments from other shoppers as I carried the sign to my car. Everyone loved it!

I also stocked up on some plants, pumpkins, dried florals, a wicker table, some dried gourds, faux fall greens for my front door and some old oars (shocker).

We ended our day driving through Holland and then made our way to Grand Rapids where we stayed overnight. Off to Saugatuck today!

Dining al fresco in NYC with my daughter is a memory I will cherish forever. It’s also one I wish we could replay every single September. 💕

September is a lovely time to visit New York City. Not too hot and not too cold. The perfect time of the year to grab every outside table you can!

Tonight we were on our way to the boat for an evening swim and I proposed ice cream for dinner and that we’d grab a more proper meal later tonight. M & D were all in.

A stop at Granny Joe’s in Vermilion is a family tradition.

As we continued west, somehow the Lorain County Fair came into the conversation and the next thing you know, we turned the Jeep right around and are now on our way to the Fair!

We may not get that proper meal, but we know we’ll eat good!
