August opens with a whisper of gold. Somewhere between the fullness of summer and the turning toward autumn, the fields begin to bow beneath their own abundance. ☀🌾

It was during this threshold that our ancestors gathered to celebrate what the earth had given, and to honor what it asked in return.

This is Lughnasadh, the first of the three harvest sabbats. It carries a wisdom that reaches beyond the fields and into the rhythms of our own becoming.

To walk into this season consciously is to ask what we have grown, what we are willing to release, and what it truly means to reap what we have sown.

The Full Buck Moon of July rises beneath the visionary influence of Aquarius, arriving in the heart of summer as nature reaches a peak season of strength and growth. This is a moon of culmination, reminding us that every stage of becoming is shaped through patience, persistence, and the quiet efforts that unfold long before transformation becomes visible. 🌕🦌♒

Traditionally named for the season when a stag’s antlers approach their fullest growth, the Buck Moon carries symbolism of regeneration, resilience, and the emergence of inner strength. It invites us to honor what has taken root through dedication, while recognizing that our own evolution unfolds through cycles of shedding, rebuilding, and renewal.

Guided by Aquarius, this lunation turns our awareness toward individuality, inner knowing, and the courage to move beyond familiar boundaries. It encourages us to examine the patterns that shape our lives, trust the wisdom cultivated through experience, and embrace the freedom that comes from living in alignment with our authentic path.

Aligned with the archetype of The Star (XVII), this moon also illuminates the relationship between inner wisdom and outward expression. It reminds us that the light we discover within ourselves is not meant to remain hidden, but to become a source of inspiration, transformation, and meaningful contribution to the world around us.

"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." – John Muir

During a recent harvest of Lavender, we found ourselves gathering alongside a colony of dedicated honeybees. What began as a simple task soon became a gentle reminder that nature has a beautiful way of revealing the many facets of her medicine.

We came for Lavender's wisdom, beauty, and unique essence. The bees came for its pollen, busily gathering what would sustain both their hive and their work.

At one point, a child in our group expressed fear of the bees and the sting one of them might deliver. It was a valid fear, but rather than abandoning our harvest we paused to watch them together. As we listened and observed, the child’s fear gradually gave way to curiosity and admiration.

"You see?” I explained. "They’re not here to hurt us. They’re here with a purpose, and if we respect their space then they'll respect ours.”

We continued our harvest around the bees rather than through them, leaving untouched the blossoms where they were still busy gathering. In that moment, our work felt less like taking and more like a participation.

The Lavender had gathered us all into the same quiet exchange. The bees, the children, the herbalists, and the plant itself—each was fulfilling a purpose, and each was sustained by a relationship that had existed long before our arrival.

Perhaps this is one of nature's gentlest teachings: we are all connected, and there is enough for everyone when we gather with reverence instead of urgency. Every harvest is an invitation not only to receive, but to belong.

Standing amongst the Lavender, it became clear that sometimes the deepest medicine is found not only in the plants we gather, but in the lessons they reveal.

The Full Strawberry Moon of June rises beneath the steadfast influence of Capricorn, arriving just after the Summer Solstice as the Earth reaches the height of its abundance. It is a moon of fulfillment, reminding us that every season of patient growth carries the promise of an eventual harvest. 🌕🍓♑

Traditionally associated with the sweetness of early summer, the Strawberry Moon invites us to recognize what has quietly flourished through devotion, resilience, and trust. It encourages gratitude for all that has taken root while honoring the unseen growth that continues beneath the surface.

Guided by Capricorn, this lunation turns our attention toward the foundations that support lasting abundance. It asks us to reflect upon the ways we cultivate purpose, integrity, and quiet perseverance, revealing that meaningful achievement is measured not only by what we accomplish, but by who we become along the way.

Aligned with the archetype of The Devil, this moon also illuminates the patterns that shape our inner landscape. It reminds us that true freedom begins with awareness, and that every ascent becomes more meaningful when we meet ourselves with honesty, compassion, and the courage to release what no longer belongs upon the path.

The Summer Solstice has been a threshold of transformation for as long as humans have looked to the sky and felt something stir within them. ☀🌿🌻

At its heart, Midsummer is not simply the longest day. It is an invitation, woven into the turning of the earth itself, to meet the fire within, to listen at the liminal edge, and to remember the sacred intelligence of the cosmos.

Every tradition that has honored this day understood that the outer light and the inner life are not separate things. The sun at its peak is a mirror. What it illuminates in the sky, it illuminates within us. Our longing. Our insight. Our rootedness in the living earth beneath our feet.

This is the mystery of Midsummer: the awakening of what seeks expression, the wisdom that arrives at the threshold, and the sacred becoming tangible through the living world around us.

The wheel turns. The fire burns. The threshold opens. 🔥

In 2026, the Full Blue Moon of May rises beneath the visionary influence of Sagittarius, carrying with it an energy of rarity, expansion, and profound illumination. 🌕♐🏹

Occurring only once every few years, the Blue Moon has long been associated with moments that feel transformative or destined. Spiritually, the Blue Moon magnifies the energy of a traditional Full Moon, bringing heightened clarity, emotional revelation, and the opportunity to release what no longer aligns.

Guided by Sagittarius, this lunation invites us to step beyond limiting beliefs and reconnect with a broader perspective on life. It asks us to seek truth, embrace growth, and trust the wisdom gained through lived experience.

Aligned with the archetype of Temperance, this moon also speaks to integration and inner alchemy. It reminds us that expansion without grounding becomes imbalance, while true transformation emerges when heart, mind, and spirit move together in harmony.

Under this rare Moon, we are called to perceive differently, release consciously, and step forward with a renewed sense of freedom and purpose.

Since the early days of Nettle & Bone Apothecary, our mission has been to encourage rituals that align with nature’s magick and wisdom — honoring the quiet, sacred moments that reconnect us to ourselves and the earth around us.

Until now, much of that journey has centered around rituals of care from without, offering skin and haircare formulas designed to honor the body, soften the senses, and invite moments of intentional pause into everyday life.

But at long last, we felt called to also turn our focus to care from within.

Stepping forward into this new chapter, we are excited to introduce Kettle Kwatha — herbal decoction blends crafted to offer the grounding nourishment of slow-simmered botanicals.

Rooted in traditional herbal practices and inspired by the beauty of mindful living, these blends invite you to slow down, simmer gently, and reconnect with nature through intentional presence.

Leading this collection is Vitality Guard, our elderberry syrup mix designed to help you prepare a rich, flavorful elderberry syrup from the comfort of your own home. Simple to make and deeply supportive, this decoction blend transforms an everyday kitchen ritual into something warm, meaningful, and quietly powerful.

May this offering bring warmth to your kitchen, intention to your rituals, and a deeper connection to the rhythms of nature. 🌿

As the Wheel of the Year turns once more, we arrive at the threshold of fire and bloom—Beltane, the ancient festival that welcomes the height of spring and the promise of summer. It is a season alive with warmth, where the earth hums with vitality and the days stretch long beneath the strengthening sun. 🔥🌸🌿

Rooted in early Gaelic tradition and carried forward through modern pagan practice, Beltane is both a celebration and a crossing. It marks the movement into the light half of the year, a time when growth becomes abundance and life begins to flourish in its fullest expression. Beneath its history burns a quiet reverence for the forces that sustain and renew the living world.

In honoring Beltane, we step into this fertile current. We celebrate not only the turning of the seasons, but the spark of life itself—the energy that calls us outward, into connection, creation, and the wild beauty of becoming.

The Full Flower Moon of May rises within the transformative waters of Scorpio, offering a gentle yet undeniable call toward change. 🌕♏🦂

Balanced between the renewal of spring and the radiance of summer, this lunation marks a moment of becoming—where growth is both felt and revealed.

Traditionally tied to the blooming of wildflowers, the Flower Moon reflects abundance and new beginnings. Yet as a micromoon, its energy is quieter, inviting reflection on the changes taking place beneath the surface.

Through Scorpio’s depth and the guidance of Death (XIII), we are invited to release with intention—understanding that renewal often begins the moment we let go.

From the depths, something shifts.
And from that shift, something more aligned takes root.
