AS PROMISED
My guide to 75 Hard is HERE! Flip through what I have compiled here to give you my rips and tricks on SUCESSFULLY COMPLETING 75 HARD. Read below for my personal 75 Hard story! .......................................................
βWhen I chose to start 75 hard, I had just found out I was pregnant and wanted a way to stay healthy during my new journey in life! Not drinking alcohol was the easiest part of 75 Hard for me, and then the outdoor workouts really played a part in knocking out nausea and other early symptoms I had in my first trimester. I was cleared by my doctor to follow 75 Hard (please consult with your doctor before starting this, just like any other physical activity you would ask them about) and was so glad to have this as an outline to stay focused on something besides what I was feeling at that point.
I focused on exercises I could handle to do daily, switched it up so I stayed safe didn't get burnt out and didn't challenge myself beyond what I knew was realistically possible, for example, instead of going crazy and trying to powerlift for 45 minutes and run outdoors for 45 minutes each day, I chose to take some days lighter, and some days harder. If I couldn't handle a weighted workout for my indoor time, I would choose a lighter option like Piyo, Yoga or even just stretching out muscles that were sore from the previous day. Most outdoor workouts were simple 45 minute walks with my dogs, my husband or a friend unless I felt like running. This helped me have an easier time completing this challenge and didn't overwhelm myself in any way. Due to being pregnant, I didn't follow a specific "diet" because I didn't think cutting out anything completely was a smart choice for my body at the time. Instead, I really honed into my nutrition and started challenging myself to make the best and healthiest choices whenever possible. Water was easy to get down once I found a fun bottle to use that I wouldn't forget about. Reading was simple when baby books were the new and exciting thing in our house!

How often do you cook with fresh ingredients? How about challenging yourself to try new recipes or even wingin' one of your own? Making homemade meals with as many nutrients involved is more important than anything right now. Choosing to make meals out of fresh ingredients to pack in as many vitamins and nutrients as I can is a big goal of mine. Last night I made a homemade Lasagna using fresh tomatoes, fresh trimmed basil, and lots of onion and garlic. The fresh Tomato sauce I made for our dinner was packed full of Vitamin C, Potassium, Vitamin K1, Folate, as well as a great source of antioxidants that help fight inflammation and reduce cholesterol. Adding minced mushroom to the meat we used for our Lasagna added fiber, protein and antioxidants without sacrificing texture or flavor.
Thinking of food as something that is going to fuel my body and learning what is most beneficial and not just satisfy a craving has actually been really fun, I've now taken it up to be somewhat of a game, giving myself "points" or how many vegetables, vitamins and nutrients I can hide in my own food π and I have a feeling it will come in handy feeling my little one coming in February, once they are ready to eat big people food.
With no preservatives or added artificial ingredients to mess it up or be nervous about, and a garden fresh flavor, dinner was amazing.

Sorry bout it! Looked ahead and the smoke may or may not clear, but the temperature between 6 and 8 will be in the 80s and I don't do well hiking in the heat. We will just have to wait this one out! Better luck next time. ENJOY THE WEEKEND!

Get outside!
Took the opportunity to walk the beach with my mom while visiting Cannon Beach over the last weekend. Even enjoyed an early morning run through town with Lady, since we brought all the dogs too! Got to enjoy the fresh air and sand and felt recharged when I came back home π

Picked fresh from our garden!
A fun way to enjoy eating healthy is growing a garden at home! It doesn't have to be fancy, and you may even already have a spot to till up and plant in!
π
PRO TIP: Unless you're someone who eats tomatoes like apples, 1 plant is PLENTY for a small family. Each year, and I get enough out of our 1 plant to make pasta and pizza sauces, salsas, sandwiches, and even have some leftover to freeze at the end of the season (they will grow till end of October here in the Tri).
Do YOU have a garden? What do you grow? I'd love to know and I'm always up for trades, I am currently also growing Eggplant (giant ones!) and the Kale in the garden WILL NOT STOP growing so reach out for some of that!!
πHAPPY EATING!

Wake up with the sun, charge your soul underneath it, and radiate that energy all day long! βοΈ
Satisfying sweaty 5k done for the day! Planning on some good foam rolling tonight with some yoga to stretch out these sore legs from the last couple of days of lower body focus. π
....Also CANNOT believe my skin looks like THIS without makeup right now! Thank you for keeping my skin happy and taken care of!
