Ways to combat the dry skin that comes with age.
Older skin has fewer sweat and oil glands than younger skin. Dry skin may be caused by frequent baths, certain cosmetics or medications. Avoid using harsh soaps when bathing, and if possible, cut back on the number of baths or showers each week. A sponge bath with warm water may help to clean and revive skin without stripping the skin of its valuable moisturizers. When you do use soap, try using a natural very mild soap that does not contain any dyes, parabens or perfumes. Follow up the bath with a moisturizing lotion concentrating on problem dry areas. A good all natural moisturizer is one of the foundations for a healthy skin care regimen. Continue moisturizing throughout the day to keep skin healthy. Your hands and face are particularly susceptible to daily damage, and may need to be moisturized several times.

Aside from the sunscreen and the water consumption, exercise, rest, and good nutrition lay the foundation for beautiful, healthy skin. A proper diet is not only good for your overall health, it also helps to ensure that your skin will receive all of the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that it needs to maintain and repair cells
What is the second best thing you can do for your skin?
Drink lots of water. That means at least 8 glasses of water a day. Drinking water is one of the best ways to keep your skin healthy. Water helps to hydrate the skin and move waste and nutrients through the system.
Beauty Tip: What is the single best thing you can do for your skin?
Quite simply - wear sunscreen. Ultraviolet radiation damages the skin and can lead to wrinkles, premature aging, age spots, and cancer. Take extra precautions to make sure your skin is not exposed to the sun's rays. Use a natural sunscreen, or a moisturizer that contains sunscreen (at least SPF 15) everyday.

Don't get carried away when plucking your eyebrows. Take your time and buy an eyebrow stencil if necessary. If you make a mistake, use an eyebrow or eyeliner pencil the same color as your eyebrows to fill in sparse areas.

#1: Cleanse your face. No matter what time of year it is, it's always important to cleanse your skin. However, in the summer, this step is extremely critical. Between being out in the warm weather and sun bathing, your skin will develop an excess amount of sebum. This is the result of the warmer temperatures that cause you to perspire. If the sebum stays on your skin too long, it can lead to breakouts and clogged pores. Remember to cleanse your skin in the morning and at the end of the day.

#2: Apply sunscreen regularly. During the summertime, many people enjoy soaking up the rays and spending outdoors. While the warm weather may feel great, recognize that you need to protect yourself from the sun's UV rays. Choose a sunscreen that best suits your skin type. If you're very fair skinned, stick with a sunscreen that has SPF 45 or higher. If you tan easily, you should be fine using a sunscreen with SPF 30.

#3: Use a light foundation since the weather is warm and you will perspire. A heavier foundation will literally feel heavy on your skin and may cause an allergic reaction if you perspire. In addition, it will literally melt off your face when you perspire. Rather then using the typical full-coverage foundation, stick with tinted moisturizer or mineral makeup. Both products feel lightweight on your skin and aren't as likely to lead to breakouts, skin irritation and clogged pores.

#4: Use powder to combat oily skin. As the warm weather can lead to perspiration and shiny faces, powder can serve as the ultimate tool for combating an oily T-zone and cheeks. You can use either a pressed or loose powder. However, if you use a pressed powder, switch out your makeup sponge every one to two weeks. With the combination of perspiration, sunscreens and natural skin oils, bacteria can build up. Switching out your makeup sponge helps eliminate that problem.

To keep your face looking as youthful as possible, you need to properly cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize your skin while never leaving the house without at least 30 SPF sunscreen. I've dubbed this process "The Basic 4-Step Skincare Regimen," which I outline in this article.
But before we go there, how you care for your skin is utterly dependent on the type of skin you have: oily, normal/combination, dry, sensitive or sun- damaged.

Fans Q: How Often To Wash Your Face In The Summer And If You Work Out?
Adorablez Beauty Tip: From what I understand, sweat does not necesarilly clog pores, but I letting sweat sit on your face can aggravate your skin and acne, and is generally advised against. The best thig you can do is plan your facewashing/showering around your workout if it's possible. If this is not possible, which it isn't for many people, I advise splashing water on your face and gently drying after getting all sweaty. I would not advise washing with facewash more than 2x a day, The water should remove sweat without stripping your face dry. Many times I wash my face in the morning, workout in the late afternoon after classes/work after which I shower but just let water run on my face, and then wash my face before bed. I found this a little drying in winter, so I was sure to moisturize well.
Keep in mind that any unecessary irritation should be avoided when it comes to treating acne prone skin so be gentle as possible if you have to wash 3 times in a day. This is a good rule of tumb that Dan Kern strongly stands by, and I couldnt agree more!
Hope this helps. I'm sure many people have different opinions on this, but this is what worked for me
P.S If you wear make up, I would wash before the workout and after and use the wash after your workout as your nighttime wash.
Here's what I mean:
Morning: shower & wash face
Before workout: wash face if wearing make up
After workout: wash face
Nighttime: skip on washing face since you only did it a few hours ago

Summer Tips: 4. Cool your skin: This may sound nasty but it does work! Blend half a cucumber and 1 tablespoon of yogurt in the mixer to make a homemade face pack. Apply to your face for 15 minutes for the complete pampered feeling!
Summer Tips: 3. Cleanse your face twice a day: Cleansing and moisturising your skin before sleeping is an absolute must!
Summer Tips: 2. Protect yourself from the sun: Stay indoors if you dont’ have to go out. The sun rays are more “brutal” when you hit the streets between 11AM and 3PM. Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before you step out.
