As the weekend comes to a close, I'm feeling especially grateful.
Over the past few days, I had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people and hearing their stories. Again and again, women shared their journeys with skin that has become more sensitive over time and the frustration of not knowing what to trust anymore.
Some told me they're hesitant to try anything labeled "natural" because they've reacted to so many products in the past. Those conversations are some of my favorites. We slow down and talk about each ingredient, the plants themselves, how they're harvested, and the gentle process we use to create each small batch.
What has surprised me most this season is how many women are searching for ingredients their grandmothers would have recognized because they're longing for something simple, familiar, and thoughtfully made.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by this weekend, whether you took home a product or simply shared a conversation. Your trust means more than you know, and every story reminds me why I love this work.
Wishing you a peaceful Sunday evening and a beautiful start to the week ahead. 🌿

A new botanical has arrived today.
This is frankincense (Boswellia sacra), not the essential oil, but the aromatic resin harvested from the tree itself.
While many of the botanicals we work with are wildcrafted here on our farm, some are simply too special to overlook. Frankincense is one of them.
We're beginning to explore traditional preparations using the whole resin, slowly infusing it to capture the character of the botanical itself.
We're looking forward to sharing the journey with you.

We are all set up at Salomon Farm Park Farmers Market. We’ll be here from 4pm-7pm
We’d love to see you!

By the time the Salomon Farm Park market opens this evening, everything on our table will look finished.
The jars will be labeled. The bottles will be filled. The table will be neatly arranged.
What you won't see are the herbs still drying from the weekend's harvest, the fresh batch of face cream before it's capped, or the quiet hours spent preparing each product long before market day arrives.
Those behind-the-scenes moments are where most of the work happens.
It's a slower way of making botanical skincare, but it's the way we've chosen from the beginning. Working in small batches means we can let the seasons guide what we harvest and make each product with the attention it deserves.
We'll be at the market this evening with freshly made favorites, and a tiny first batch of our new Rosemary & Peppermint Hair Oil, just three bottles from this inaugural batch.
If you're coming out tonight, we'd love to visit with you.

When you pick up one of our botanical skincare products, you're holding the final chapter of a much longer story.
This morning, I returned to the quiet work of tending to the wildcrafted herbs gathered over the holiday weekend. They're now spread out to dry in the dehydrator, an essential step before they ever become botanical extracts or skincare.
Working in small batches means I can follow the plants' timing rather than a production schedule. Every herb has its own season, and every season asks us to slow down and work with nature rather than rush it.
If you're out enjoying one of this week's farmers markets, I'd love to visit with you and share what this season has been bringing to the farm.
Where to find us this week:
🌿 Wednesday | Salomon Farm Park Farmers Market | 4:00–7:00 PM
🌿 Friday | Roanoke Farmers Market | 5:00–8:00 PM
🌿 Saturday | YLNI Farmers Market | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸
Today, as we celebrate 250 years of American independence, we're especially grateful for God's many blessings, the beauty of this country, and the men and women who have faithfully served to protect the freedoms we enjoy.
From our family to yours, we wish you a celebratory and meaningful Fourth of July.

This weekend, we’re stepping away from the pace of processing, bottling, and markets to spend time with family and enjoy a slower rhythm.
An herbalist's eye, however, never really takes a holiday. Even while slowing down, I can't help but notice the plants growing along a path, at the edge of a field, or beneath the trees. I'll still gather a few seasonal finds along the way, pausing to admire what's in bloom and to appreciate the fingerprints of our Creator throughout His creation. It's less of a task and more of a way of seeing the world.
As a military family, Independence Day is a time of gratitude and reflection. This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate 250 years of American independence. We thank God for the blessings of this nation, for the freedoms we enjoy, and for the men and women whose service and sacrifice have helped preserve them.
I hope this weekend offers you a chance to slow down, gather with those you love, and take a moment to appreciate the many blessings that surround us each day.
Happy Independence Day from our family to yours. 🇺🇸🌿

One of our favorite parts of this time of year is watching the property change from week to week.
Over the years, we've come to know more than twenty wild medicinal plants growing naturally on our little piece of Indiana. Each has its own season, its own story, and its own place in the landscape.
People sometimes imagine herbalists simply walk outside and pick whatever is growing.
The reality is much quieter than that.
Each plant has its own season and its own ideal moment to harvest. Some are gathered before they bloom. Others are best in full flower.
Leaves, roots, seeds, and berries all have their own timing, and even the weather can influence when we’ll harvest.
And not every useful plant is harvested.
Some are left entirely for the pollinators. Some are still becoming established and need a few more seasons. Others simply aren't growing in abundance, so they remain exactly where they are.
Even with the plants we do harvest, we take only a small portion so they can continue to flourish year after year.
Much of herbalism isn't about gathering, it's about observing.
Watching.
Waiting.
The plants have a way of letting you know when they're ready. Our job is simply to pay attention.
We believe it’s a gift God offers us through creation. It teaches patience in a culture that often asks us to hurry.
What wild plant have you noticed flourishing around your home this summer?
