their heart fixed. Some were reading magazines, eating, visiting others were playing cards. It seemed as if they were just waiting while the oil was changed in their car. I thought this is serious and no one is reading the Bible and they were placed on the waiting room tables. The Bible says to pray incessantly and that was what I was going to do and mind my own business. The nurse came in and let me know things were going fine with about another 40 to 45 minutes to go and showed me on a diagram the procedure. She left, a volunteer then sat next to me with a chart and asked for a cell number in case I wanted to go and get something to eat and they needed to get a hold of me they could reach me on my cell. I told her I’m not going anywhere I’m not eating until I know he is ok. She left and then I hear, we need an anesthesiologist stat! I’m thinking; gee, what is that all about. No sooner spoken then the nurse opens the door and is motioning me to follow her. We go into a room and she says, "it is not going well. Is there someone you could call or someone who could
come here to be with you." I’m thinking, who am I going to call? I’m in Kansas City and this can’t be happening. I was doing everything right. The nurse is explaining, they are trying to resuscitate him we are not sure what happened. This was from the Lord because my cell phone rings and it’s my brother-in-law wanting to know what’s going on. Now my brother-in-law has no idea his brother is in surgery. I was so glad to hear his voice. I told him it is not going well they are trying to resuscitate him right now and to pray and I would call him back when I know something. The nurse leaves to find out if my hubby is alive. I sat down and picking up my Bible prayed Lord just give me the strength I know it is your will, what ever happens. The nurse returned minutes later saying ok… he is breathing on his own and he is talking. She told me how there were 25 people in the room. Two burly guys were taking turns pounding on his chest, which they did for 1 to 2 minutes. One was holding the oxygen mask over his face the other was squeezing the bag in and out and the whole time this was going on the Doctor was finishing the procedure. The nurse told me this has never happened. The other nurses in the room all said the hair on the back of their necks stood up. (She repeated that statement again later) They normally don’t continue with the procedure. What had happened was his vein collapsed and it was a critical vein because when there was no more blood
to the heart his heart stopped. She said he is ok and I picked up my Bible and told her it’s because I prayed, the power of prayer. The Doctor came in who had assisted and was telling me all that happened and how amazing it was and I said yes it’s the power of prayer and I showed him my Bible. They put a balloon pump in through a vein in his groin so his heart could rest for 12 hours. Normally they insert a tube down his throat for breathing but they said that wasn’t necessary. Later that night the Doctor who assisted came in to see how my hubby was doing. It was the last day for him at this hospital because he was leaving to do this procedure himself at another hospital. This young doctor’s homeland is India and he was very nice and we could still tell he was very shaken about what had happened. He looked at my hubby and said you shouldn’t be here you should have died. The doctor did an incredible job; you should have seen it. I said yes, and the power of prayer. That Doctor lowered his head and said yes there was definitely a Divine intervention. The Doctor who performed the procedure came in about two hours later. He was also still showing signs of stress. He looked at my hubby and said; “if you just wouldn’t have said, don’t kill me”. All the doctors that came to see my hubby could not get over how well he looked, and that his numbers where good. They all said you know you shouldn’t be alive. I answered them, “yes we know, it’s the power of prayer”. The visiting minister knew what had happened and the day we were leaving stopped to pray for us. He said he would definitely use our story to encourage others and to show that God is still performing miracles today. My hubby had his balloon pump removed with no problem and everything is going well; Praise the Lord! I think this all happened because I was praying; I was doing the right thing. So the Glory and power of our sweet Lord could be shown to many people. I mentioned the power of prayer whenever I could. We rejoice every day for my hubby’s health, and we were chosen to show Gods mightiness and his great love. We also learned to EAT HEALTHIER!!! Thank you all for your prayers! Thanks be to GOD for Divine intervention! He is doing fine now and thought I could post what we have been up to.
