The Wirehaired Griff

Happy 9th birthday to the muppet that continues to shoot sunbeams from her toes every day, and certainly doesn’t act her age. Here’s to many more years of adventures, kiddo.

Evening hike up the mountain. Still plenty of snow drifts for this goon, as well as plenty of chipmunks to hunt.

She was made small, but brave of heart.

Jovial, cheerful, sassy, tenacious and opinionated. Our trailer park puppy turned La Jolla queen that would also happily root in the mud like a pig in slop.

A constant in our life and home. There for the beginning of our relationship. Our third wheel. My instant sidekick and companion after I lost my last girl.

Today we freed her from her failing body, and carried her one last time up the mountain to her final resting place.

“I am in tears, as I carry you to your final resting place as much as I rejoiced when bringing you home with my own hands [thirteen] years ago.”
