Today Nora made me realize how much she’s grown up and how amazing of a person she’s becoming. Not only is she incredibly smart and well spoken for her age but she has kindness and I swear more intuition than I ever had as a child. Today she met a little boy on the spectrum and he came up, had some nuggets and they played. Usually she is a little afraid of kids especially boys but truly she knew to include him. She knew to share her nuggets, because you never know who’s hungry. She knew to be respectful (not her normal bossy). And as the little boy took her sister’s ball she said it’s ok Chloe and handed her, her ball. She knew the little boy didn’t mean it and still kept trying to include him. And she said she was proud of him for being brave and playing.

Watching her pick up on how much this little boy needed softness was absolutely incredible. And continuing to watch her be her little sisters fighter and role model just makes me so so incredibly proud of her. I’m so happy we get to grow together little one I love you more and more every day. ❤️

So much fun celebrating my sweet babies 5th birthday I can’t believe she’s almost in school! This year feels like such a big shift as a mom and I’m so here for it but I feel like she’s not so little anymore 🥹 I love you so much Nora you’re the absolute best thing that happened to me and you continue to make life fun and full of love! Happy birthday sweet pea and thank you to everyone who helped near or far in celebrating her ❤️❤️

Being a mom and trying to heal and figure yourself out is really wild but being around people that will always love you and looking at your perfect children really gives the most hope that everything will be ok.

Just a little rant I’ve been having in my head today.

Body dismorphia is truly crazy. After having my thyroid removed and changing medications regularly for the past bit of time it’s been a weight roller coaster. Without any change in diet or exercise. After getting my thyroid removed I went from about 125 to 145 so quickly like within a month or so, kid you not I woke up over one night and could not button my pants. I was truthfully fearing the scale because when I look in the mirror I’m like damn I really gained a lot of weight now what am I going to do to get it off this time. Meanwhile my pants have literally been sagging and I never even thought like damn maybe you’ve lost weight. I kept thinking man, I really stretched these suckers out.

Cut to this morning I got a wild hair and hopped on the feared scale to be close to my smallest weight. But what really is the pill to swallow is I have no control over what my weight gain/loss is because I didn’t change anything and lost and gained overnight. The other side of that is no matter how much weight someone loses or no matter what you’ve improved there’s always something we pick at in the mirror which is so crazy because I’ve come so far to look back at the person I was. Also hormone issues are the worst, if you see someone gained weight first of all, they know second of all it’s possible they have very little control over what the scale does. Instead of being mean to yourself or people in your life or people that pass you by, shoot em a compliment.

Today was my last day working for a few weeks while I tackle radiation. Some of you know and others don’t but last year was a hard one I found out I had stage 4 thyroid cancer. I had my tumor removed and they found it in my lymph nodes so we won’t know for a few days where it has traveled to. It’s been several months of being fearful and scared of the results but I’m happy it’s almost here and after that we can get more answers. I’m praying this is my final step and I will be in remission and won’t have any procedures for a while because I’m tired and just ready to put this behind me. I ask you send me all the good vibes for me and my family. For those of you who don’t know, radiation means no seeing people especially little ones for 2 weeks. It makes me so sad to think about it but we have so much family to help make it easier for them. Thank you to anyone who reached out or told me well wishes. I’m grateful for my clients, students, family and friends for all the support, I’ll see you guys in a few weeks!
