Why is crochet root maintenance superior.

📈Lasts longer than a traditional ReTwist.
* With crochet you don’t have to worry about your ReTwist coming undone. It’s tightened to about .5 inch from the root and will remain that way until it grows out.Truthfully a ReTwist isn’t really meant to last a month or even two weeks. It can last that long with heavy products and with styles that trap the hairs in place, but naturally it typically doesn’t.
🧴Less product
* Products do not lock your hair. Products give your hair a nice finish but isn’t 100% necessary to your Loc journey. I put product in my hair after washing and then I’m done for the week unless I’m doing my edges.
💦Water resistant
* Your Locs can hold up getting washed. Your traditional ReTwist is “ruined” When it touches water. I promote washing your locs once a week. The longest I would go is two weeks. Because who wants an itchy scalp?
* You going on vacation? You can go on a water friendly vacation without ducking and covering. What rainbow red say “shake them Locs?”
⚡️ I love Afros and I love Locs but were both the plan?
* Let me first say I was semi- freeform for 3 years so I’m not judging.😂😂 But when you can rock a slick back ponytail and you have loc’s you might need to make an appointment. A palm rolled ReTwist or even lock smithing is a temporary fix. Let’s loc your roots.
