You don’t need Botox to have healthy, glowing skin and age gracefully. There are many modern alternatives that do not paralyze the muscles, do not include toxins, and do not have the potential to cause drooping or reliance in the long run.

This is a topic many of you may have come across whether as a licensed professional or as a consumer in the skincare world, so I figured we should talk about it:
Why natural (or at least 100% natural) skincare isn’t always better.

The best part of what I do is getting to help all of you work towards and achieve your skincare goals, and provide some comfort/relief particularly in painful, irritating, and incredibly difficult conditions like perioral dermatitis.
Shout out to this client (permission to share given), who trusted me and worked together as a team and was able to finally see some relief from PD after 2.5 weeks that was sadly caused by a dermatologist neglecting to mention that topical steroid use for too long can cause certain conditions like PD. Before is left, after is right. The journey is not over and there can be set backs where flares come and go, and she will be adding internal traditional Chinese medicine work in with an additional professional as liver and gut health are also key. A full, well rounded and proper approach, trust, patience, and consistency are all key to achieving your skincare goals. I will forever and always love solving your skincare mysteries ❤️

Happy shark week!
You’ve probably heard of the ingredients squalane and squalene or seen one in your skincare. SqualAne and squalEne are used in skincare as they can help provide hydration and greater product slip, and in the body they are a part of our sebum and also used to create cholesterol and cortisol. SqualAne is more commonly used now as it is more resistant to oxidation, but also for a very important ethical reason: squalEne is commonly derived from sharks (though there is also a synthetic version), these beautiful creatures that are so important to our ecosystem, and they are hunted largely in part for this in addition to shark fin soup and unrealistic and inhumane practices like culling. Did you know sharks kill about 3-5 humans per year (typically by accident), but humans kill 100 MILLION sharks per year intentionally! Who is the real monster? 😢. Squalane is usually derived from olive or rice bran sources, but also be careful as both squalane and squalene can come from sharks though squalene more commonly does. As such, it is important to know the origin of the ingredients in your products and this is also important from an allergy standpoint too. Be sure to support ethical brands and ask questions about where their squalane is derived from and lab/manufacturing practices. You can have great skin, but also don’t be afraid to cry SOS (save our sharks 🦈 )!
