I roasted the bacon like you said (350 on parchment paper) and it came out perfect!! I guess the poor results before were because I wasn't using the right bacon. I'll have to get all my bacon from Kehres Health now.
Dear Doctor, On “Doctor’s Day,” my wife Rejeana and I would like to thank you for all that you do to take such good care of us. Especially in this time of the coronavirus crisis, we know that Doctors and other health care professionals are real-world heroes, and we are very grateful. Sincerely, Ben Paulson
This office is amazing their attention to detail and customer service is amazing. I have one suggestion or request as a patient can you consider bringing in a traction table this would be much needed and appreciated. I have many of my customers ask if there's anywhere with a traction table around and with you being the best I would consider you bringing one in

Operating as usual

People know that good nutrition and exercise helps our physical health, but often overlook how they deal with mental stress and the effect it has on physical health.

Whether you believe it or not, you have the ability to respond to stress the way that you want to.

With offices across the Great Lakes Bay Region, our doctors are never out of reach to help you lead a healthier, more pain-free life.

We're surrounded by stress.

Epigenetics is the study of how lifestyle influences our genes. Sometimes we think that our genes can't ever be changed, but our genes are like light switches that can be turned on and off by our lifestyles.

The more stress we have, the more likely we are to flip on switches with negative health consequences.

Quick tip: make your home healthier by opening a few windows and doors for 20 minutes a day to air out your house (even when it's cold outside!). Poor indoor air quality is bad for your health.

Also applies to humans. ❤️❤️❤️

We live in an unhealthy bubble.

If you've ever traveled internationally, you'll notice the difference. America is overweight. It's heart disease, it's diabetes, and the consequences are massive. When scientists study other cultures with comparatively low rates of cancer and other diseases, they found the primary difference was lifestyle.

#beingunhealthyisntnormal

Hurt your back? Medication. High blood pressure? Medication.

Our health system is phenomenal at things like surgery and dealing with acute trauma, but not great at getting to the root cause of a problem.

If obesity didn't have any side effects, it wouldn't be an issue. But if I buy a new truck, load it up with too much weight and drive it around every day, what's going to happen? It's going to destroy the shocks, struts, and the engine.

The same thing happens to our spine and other joints in the body.

Chiropractic care should be a long-term solution and not just a short-term fix and we want to help you lead a healthier, more pain-free life!

Once you figure out what you want to accomplish, commit to it. If your goal is to lose weight, why is your house full of chips, candy, and ice cream?

Take care of your health and retire on your own terms.

Only 5% of people follow through on their New Year's Resolutions, and most give up after going only 21 days. The statistics are similar for people trying a new diet or exercise program.

What will make the difference between lasting 21 days and lasting 120? It's your "why". Think about why you need to make a change. It might be for your family or to make a better you.

Once you answer the question of "Why do I need to make a change?", jump in headfirst.

"We have lymph nodes all through our body. What they do is when you have a bacteria or a virus, your immune system is going to attack it, bring it to your lymph nodes, and clear it through.

Sweating and exercise is one of the best ways to help move things through our lymph nodes."

Never been to a chiropractor? With a focus on patient experience and education, we look beyond pain or other symptoms to understand the root cause of pain or dysfunction. Chiropractic care should be a long-term solution and not just a short-term fix, and we would love to help you lead a healthier, more pain-free life!

Monosaturated fats are a type of helpful fat present in a variety of foods and oils.

Research has consistently shown that eating foods that contain monounsaturated fat can improve your blood cholesterol level and decrease your risk for cardiovascular disease. These foods include:

- nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts, pecans)
- vegetable oils (olive oil, peanut oil)
- peanut butter and almond butter
- avocado

Polyunsaturated fats are known as “essential fats” because the body cannot make them and needs to get them from foods. Plant-based foods and oils are the primary source of this fat.

Like monounsaturated fat, polyunsaturated fat can decrease your risk for heart disease by lowering blood cholesterol levels, according to the American Heart Association.

A certain type of this fat, called omega-3 fatty acids, has been shown to be particularly beneficial for your heart.

Omega-3s appear to not only decrease the risk of coronary artery disease, but they also help lower blood pressure levels and guard against irregular heart rates. The following types of foods contain omega-3 fatty acids:

- salmon
- herring
- sardines
- trout
- walnuts
- flaxseed
- chia seeds

What is good sleeping posture? We strongly recommend sleeping on your back with a pillow under your knees, as it’s easiest to keep the spine neutral as you sleep.

Your mattress and pillow choices can also help your posture.

Select a firm mattress or an ensemble that does not sag. If necessary, place a board under your mattress. You can also place the mattress on the floor temporarily if necessary. If you've always slept on a soft surface, it may be initially painful to change to a harder surface. Try to do what's most comfortable for you.

The human neck curves slightly forward (to sustain the weight of the head when upright), and it is very important to maintain this curve when in a resting position. If the height of the pillow is too high or low when sleeping, your neck is bent abnormally out of alignment, causing muscle and joint strain. You can even wake with headaches.

Poor pillow support can also cause narrowing of the air pipe, resulting in obstructed breathing, and sometimes snoring, which can hinder sleep. This is bad sleeping posture.

Court: Subway ‘bread’ not actually bread

“Ireland’s Supreme Court ruled this week that Subway’s bread doesn’t meet the country’s legal definition of bread because it has too much sugar, The Associated Press reports. Ireland legally defines bread because of a tax exemption related to its status as an “staple food.”

Powering Through Isn't Always the Answer: Parenting Has Limits, Too

"I figured if I could narrow down the really exhausting parts of the day for me, and try to brainstorm some solutions, maybe I could help myself recharge and we could all function better as a family.

So first up, I analyzed what set me off as a parent. To me, there are certain parts of the day, or chores, or behaviors, my kids normally engage in that totally deplete me and I have a hard time bouncing back from.

Here’s what I identified as my main issues — and how I decided to deal with them."

"After suffering from lower back pain and leg numbness I went to Dr. Harpham. I was always afraid to go to a chiropractor for fear of additional pain. Dr. Harpham was very patient and gentle. I wish I would have gone earlier. I feel terrific. His massage staff is also great. Thank you Kehres Health & Chiropractic."

How you sit can have a huge impact on your posture and your health. We are huge advocates of standing desks, but in some cases that isn't possible.

So, how do we sit properly? Here are 8 tips:

1. Pull your shoulders and your neck and head back. Take a deep breath, expand your chest as much as you can. This will automatically correct your posture.
2. Adjust the chair height so your feet are flat on the floor and your knees are in line (or slightly lower) with your hips.
3. Sit up straight and keep your hips far back in the chair.
4. The back of the chair should be somewhat reclined at a 100- to 110-degree angle.
5. Ensure the keyboard is close and directly in front of you.
6. To help your neck stay relaxed and in a neutral position, the monitor should be directly in front of you, a few inches above eye level.
7. Sit at least 20 inches (or an arm’s length) away from the computer screen.
8. Relax the shoulders and be aware of them rising toward your ears or rounding forward throughout the workday.
