The spooky shenanigans continue. I’m working day and night to get the website updated. 🎃

I’m dreadfully out of season, but practicing my bath bomb painting skills nonetheless.

New to the website - gorgeous prints by local artist . A few of these have been proudly displayed on the walls of Sugar and Spite HQ for a long while. They really are so lovely ❤️

I’m adding a bunch of work by the beautiful to the website this weekend. Her work is extraordinary and she’s also as sweet as pie. If you’re looking to shop small and give art this holiday season, these canvas prints are perfect.

Now that I’ve had a couple days to collect my thoughts:
As a q***r, POC owned brand, I foolishly didn’t think it was necessary to let people know where I stand. I am now making it crystal clear. I stand with black women. I stand with all women and their bodily autonomy. I stand with human and equal rights. I stand alongside my LGBTQIA+ community. I wholeheartedly reject racism, misogyny, ableism, and fascism. These are my principles and the principles of my company, and it’s NOT going to change.

Edgar Allen Poe’s works made their mark on my teenage goth heart way back in the 80’s. I owe my tremendous talent in the art of moping to him, and him alone. I only hope I can do him a bit of justice with my homage for this Halloween release.

All 10ml perfumes will be tucked inside a black box with….of course…. a raven wax seal to finish them off.

Unless otherwise stated, these scents will be available in perfume rollers, EDP, body spray, lotion and hair mist. Drams are not available, but samples are.

A little raven told me there may also be a few extra little nuggets, come opening day, which is September 15 :)

Ligeia - Creamy oat milk, sandalwood, gooey marshmallow, bourbon, sugared amber, skin musk, muddled apple

Never bet the devil your head - Gossamer tendrils of smoke, sooty black rose, assam tea, oud, clove leaf, damp patchouli and a drop of absinthe

Telltale - Earl grey tea, double bergamot, warm almond milk, vodka, elderflower, coconut shavings, and white sandalwood

The black cat - Shadowy, slinking black cherry, sandalwood, pink and black pepper, plum wine, wormwood, velvety vanilla, cocoa husk

Midnight Dreary - Golden musk, caramel, honeyed rum, black cacao, incense smoke, praline, cashmere, to***co and oak wood

The Haunted Palace - Amber, saffron, cedar, smoky tonka bean, amaretto, dry vanilla bean, lavender buds, green tea leaves

Loss of Breath -Rum soaked banana, almond slivers, sugar cane, dense white cake, cardamon, whipped cream musk, browned butter, and Tahitian vanilla

Spirits of the Dead -Orange bitters, maple syrup, vanilla bourbon, fennel, sandalwood, aged brandy, guaicwood, Ceylon, toffee bits, sugary musk

The Oblong Box -salted fig, freshly turned earth, nilgiri tea, heavy cream, paprika, patchouli, sandalwood, clay, poplar wood, frangelico

We are officially closed. Theres nothing left 😂 hit us up on the website for any remaining stock. We’re updating this week.

Sugar and Spite brick and mortar shop will be closing its doors next weekend. I’ve tried to make it work, but ongoing (and really poorly timed) health issues are forcing my hand. I can no longer sustain the website and the physical location at the same time. My website will once again become my main and only priority. This is all so unfortunate and sad, but chronic illness is no joke and I MUST do what’s in the best interest of my health. For local people, you will be able to order from the website and choose local pickup at checkout, saving you shipping. You will also have access to pick up only merchandise that’s impossible to ship. For non-local people, you will have access to many of my AMAZING vendors, who have shown interest in continuing through the website, and also a cool selection of one of a kind curiosities, clothing, etc. I will be open this weekend, and will reopen next weekend (Saturday and Sunday only), so if there’s something you’ve been eyeing, you may want to pick it up before close of business on Sunday. Thank you, Salem. This store has given me the opportunity to meet some truly phenomenal people….many of which have become friends. I love you all.

I will be closing up early today. I’m feeling under the weather. Also it’s excruciating slow today. There’s a festival downtown, and that’s where everyone is ❤️ Im going to head to my office and concentrate on uploading products to the website!
