Weâre excited to introduce our new Endocannabinoid System (ECS) Briefings
https://www.botanyscientifics.com/pages/endocannabinoid-briefing
a weekly series designed to educate, inspire, and empower.
These arenât lectures or sales presentations. Theyâre relaxed, engaging conversations where weâll explore the science behind the Endocannabinoid System in a way thatâs easy to understand, ask questions, and connect with others who are passionate about becoming better advocates for their own health.
Each week, weâll dive into a new topic, including:
ECS Briefing 1: What Is the Endocannabinoid System?
ECS Briefing 2: Why Didnât Most of Us Learn About It?
ECS Briefing 3: Cannabinoids vs. Cannabis
ECS Briefing 4: CBD, CBG, CBN & THCâWhatâs the Difference?
ECS Briefing 5: How to Read a COA
ECS Briefing 6: Understanding Product Labels
ECS Briefing 7: Will Cannabinoids Make Me High?
ECS Briefing 8: Full Spectrum vs. Broad Spectrum vs. Isolate
ECS Briefing 9: How Much Should Someone Take?
ECS Briefing 10: Separating Myths from Facts
What makes these conversations unique is that theyâre shaped by you. Every session ends with your questions, helping guide what we explore next.
There was a point in my life where everything I thought I understood about health, care, and healing got completely disrupted.
I had never been on medications. Ever.
And then life took a turn where I found myself in a rehab setting after becoming addicted to street drugs.
What surprised me most wasnât just the situation, it was what happened next.
They wanted to immediately start me on a new set of pills.
And something in me just paused.
It wasnât judgment. It wasnât resistance for the sake of it.
It was a deeper question:
âHow did I get here and is this the only path forward?â
That moment sent me into a much deeper exploration, of systems, of history, of how we approach healing, and of plants like h**p that have been part of human wellness for centuries, yet became heavily misunderstood over time.
It also made me ask bigger questions about how narratives are shaped, what gets taught, what gets left out, and how easily people can lose access to informed choice when theyâre overwhelmed or vulnerable.
And through all of that, one thing became very clear to me:
Education changes everything.
In my previous career, everything was rooted in understanding, learning the âwhyâ behind what we use, how systems work, and how informed decisions are actually made.
And thatâs something weâve carried into Botany Scientifics from day one.
From bringing in clinical expertise and PhD-level research, to building platforms like Ask Ashley, our goal has always been the same:
Give people access to real information, real questions, and real understanding, so they can participate in their own health journey, not just be directed through it.
Thatâs where real change happens, not in telling people what to believe, but in helping them understand enough to decide for themselves.
And maybe thatâs what this is all really about.
Giving people their power back through understanding. đż
STEP 7: Seek Real Education
Were you ever taught about your endocannabinoid system?
Most people werenât.
And yet, itâs one of the most important regulatory systems in the human bodyâhelping support balance across mood, sleep, appetite, immune response, stress, and overall homeostasis.
So the question becomes:
How is something that important not part of the everyday conversation about health?
Step 7 of becoming a self-advocate is simple, but not always easy:
Seek real education.
Not just headlines.â¨Not just ads.â¨Not just opinions passed from person to person.
But real understanding.
When you start learning how the body actually works, you begin to see patterns differently.
You start to realize how much of your health experience is connected to systems most people were never taught about.
And when you understand the endocannabinoid system, you begin to understand why certain plant compounds, like cannabinoids found in h**p, have been studied for their interaction with balance and regulation in the body.
Real education doesnât tell you what to believe.
It gives you the tools to understand your own body well enough to decide for yourself.
So Iâll ask you again:
Were you ever actually taught how your body regulates itself or did you just inherit assumptions about it?
And if you werenât taughtâ
What else might be worth learning? đż

Not because someone told you to believe in it, you owe it to yourself to ask better questions.
For decades, the conversation around h**p has been shaped by stigma, misinformation, and assumptions. Many of us grew up hearing one side of the story, never stopping to ask why we believed what we believed.
What happens when curiosity replaces fear?
One of the biggest surprises for many people is learning that your body already has a system specifically designed to interact with compounds found in the h**p plant.
Itâs called the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
Despite its role in helping regulate mood, sleep, stress response, appetite, immune function, inflammation, memory, and overall balance (homeostasis), most people have never even heard of it.
Think about that for a moment.
You probably learned about the circulatory system, digestive system, nervous system; but were you ever taught about the endocannabinoid system?
That doesnât mean you should blindly accept everything you hear about h**p.
It also doesnât mean you should blindly reject it.
At Botany Scientifics, we believe health advocacy begins with education.
Weâre not here to tell you what to think.
Weâre here to encourage you to ask questions.
To explore the science.
To understand how your own body works.
To recognize that cannabinoids found in h**p interact with receptors throughout the body as part of the endocannabinoid system, helping support the bodyâs natural ability to maintain balance.
Knowledge is empowering.
Curiosity is empowering.
Self-advocacy is empowering.
Because the more you understand your body, the better equipped you are to make informed decisions about your health.
Maybe the goal isnât to change your mind.
Maybe itâs simply to open it.
So weâll leave you with one question:
If no one ever taught you about the endocannabinoid system⌠what else might be worth learning?
đŹ Weâd love to hear from you.
Had you ever heard of the endocannabinoid system before today? Let us know in the comments.

STEP 6: Challenge the Norm
What exactly is normal and who decided it for you?
Let me give you an example.
How many times have you watched a commercial where, at the very end, it says: âAsk your doctor if this is right for you.â
And without even thinking about it, weâve been conditioned to believe that the next step is to hand our power overâour questions, our curiosity, our decision-makingâto someone else.
But hereâs the question I keep coming back to:
At what point did it become normal not to ask ourselves first?â¨Not to question what we feel, what we need, or what we already know about our own bodies.
Becoming a self-advocate means challenging that default setting.
It means realizing that ânormalâ doesnât always mean âright.â
Sometimes ânormalâ is just familiar. Sometimes itâs inherited. Sometimes itâs something weâve never actually questioned.
Step 6 is about changing that.
Learning to bring yourself back into the conversation.
To ask:â¨What do I think?â¨What does my body feel?â¨What makes sense for me?
Real empowerment isnât about having all the answers.
Itâs about refusing to stop asking better questions.
So Iâll leave you with this:
Whatâs one ânormalâ in your life youâve never actually questioned⌠but maybe should? đżđđ

Fireworks. Thunderstorms. Road trips. Family gatherings.
While we may look forward to summer, many of our pets experience it very differently.
If youâve ever watched your dog or cat shake during a thunderstorm, pace the house when fireworks begin, or become anxious during travel, you know how heartbreaking it can be.
They donât understand whatâs happening, they just know they donât feel safe.
Thatâs why we created the Botany Scientifics Pet Tincture đą a full-spectrum h**p oil formulated to help support your petâs overall health and well-being, naturally.
Like humans, dogs and cats have an endocannabinoid system (ECS)âa network of receptors throughout the body that helps regulate mood, stress response, sleep, immune function, discomfort, appetite, and overall balance. The cannabinoids found in full-spectrum h**p interact with this system to help support your petâs natural state of equilibrium.
Beyond supporting calm during stressful situations like fireworks, thunderstorms, separation anxiety, travel, or vet visits, our Pet Tincture also provides whole-body wellness benefits.
đž Supports relaxation and emotional balance during stressful moments*
đž Promotes healthy joint function and mobility for active and aging pets*
đž Nourishes healthy skin and a shiny coat with naturally occurring omega fatty acids*
đž Supports digestive health and a healthy appetite*
đž Helps maintain overall wellness by supporting the bodyâs natural endocannabinoid system*
Our bacon-flavored tincture is easy to administer and made with your petâs health in mind, because every member of the family deserves to feel their best.
Whether you have an energetic puppy, an aging senior dog, or a cat that could use a little extra support, full-spectrum h**p oil may be a valuable addition to their daily wellness routine.
This summer, donât wait until the fireworks start.
Help your furry family members feel more comfortable, more balanced, and more supported through every season.
Because they arenât âjust pets.â Theyâre family. â¤ď¸đž

A few weeks ago, we at the steps of the Texas Capitol for an evening that felt like so much more than a happy hour.
It was a room full of people asking better questions.
Listening, Learning and Sharing ideas.
Building community around a plant that, for so long, has been misunderstood.
One of my biggest takeaways from T**e & Toast wasnât about legislation or policy.
It was about people.
People from different backgrounds coming together with a shared belief that education matters, conversations matter, and real change happens when weâre willing to listen before we judge.
The h**p industry is still young. The conversations are still evolving. And while opinions may differ, one thing became clear that evening:
Curiosity moves us forward.
Whether youâre an advocate, a business owner, a healthcare professional, or someone whoâs simply trying to learn more, thereâs a seat at the table for you.
Thatâs how stigma changes.
Through education, community, and open conversations.
Weâre grateful to have been part of this event and to continue learning alongside so many passionate people working to shape the future of h**p in Texas and beyond.
Swipe through for a look behind the scenes from an evening centered around connection, collaboration, and the belief that informed conversations create lasting change. đż

Step 5: Learn Your Body.
Would you agree that once you learn something is truly better for you, you have a responsibility to act on it?
Because becoming your own health advocate isnât just about information, itâs about integration.
Itâs about learning how your body actually responds, not how someone else says it should respond.
So many of us were never taught to listen inward.
We were taught to follow instructions, ignore signals, and push through discomfort without question.
But learning your body is a lifelong process.
It starts in childhood, yet for many people itâs something theyâve never truly been guided to do.
It means paying attention and noticing patterns.
Observing how food, stress, sleep, movement, supplements, and lifestyle choices affect your unique system, because what works for one person may not work the same way for another.
Thatâs the foundation of bio-individuality.
For me, learning my body meant becoming more aware of my own data over time: how I felt, how I functioned, and how my daily choices showed up in real life.
It meant learning to listen to feedback from my body instead of overriding it.
It meant working with practitioners I trust, asking better questions, and paying attention to patterns instead of assumptions.
This is where self-advocacy becomes powerful.
In collaboration with your body, and with your awareness.â¨And with the professionals you choose to work with.
The goal is understanding. đ
đŹ Whatâs one signal your body has been trying to tell you lately?
This is Step 5 in our 12 Steps to Becoming Your Own Health Advocate series.
