The goal of this video isn't to tell you what to think.

It's to remind you that it's okay to ask questions.

When I learned that researchers found several common sunscreen ingredients could be absorbed into the bloodstream, I started reading labels differently. That study did not prove those ingredients are harmful, but it did make me ask more questions about what I put on my family's skin.

For our family, that led us to create something simpler with heirloom tallow, non-nano zinc oxide, carrot seed oil, cold pressed coconut oil, cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, & organic beeswax.

Whether you agree with me or not, I hope this encourages you to read labels, learn, ask questions, and make the choices you believe are best for your family.

Chemical sunscreen and mineral sun protection are not the same thing. And the difference matters.

Many conventional sunscreens use chemical UV filters that absorb UV radiation... and studies have found several common sunscreen ingredients in the bloodstream after use.

Mineral sun protection takes a different approach, using ingredients like zinc oxide to help protect against UV rays at the skin.

That's why we chose non-nano zinc oxide for our Sun Shield... blended with heirloom tallow, cold pressed coconut oil, cold pressed & extra virgin olive oil, organic beeswax, and cold pressed carrot seed oil.

There is something beautiful and spiritual about creating something new with the gifts God has given us. It's even more powerful when we use those gifts for His glory.

Alone time in the morning with my Father is a daily fight, especially as a SAHM. Every morning I have a choice: get up early to spend time alone with Him, get a head start on a tallow order or the laundry, squeeze in a quick prenatal workout, or sleep in because this pregnant mama with two toddlers is TIRED.

But I never regret seeking first the Kingdom.

I am a better mother, wife, entrepreneur, homemaker, creator, and - most importantly - a daughter of the one true King when I surrender to stillness in His presence rather than cling to the false control of my busyness.

This morning, as I sat beside my Bible, I lit a candle I made with the beautiful things God has provided: eucalyptus, lavender, chamomile, and herbs that bless my senses with every burn. Then I pair them with tallow fat... a burnt offering that not only blesses me and my household, but also honors the Lord. 🙌 There is something deeply satisfying about all of it.

The future of skincare isn't better marketing. It's radical transparency.

The truth is, not all tallow is created equal.

Many consumers don't realize that some tallow is sourced from nutrient-rich suet, while other tallow may come from mixed fat trimmings. Tallow mixed with not-tallow stuff. 😬

Some tallow is minimally processed.

Other tallow may go through industrial refining processes that can include deodorization, bleaching, filtration, and high-heat processing to create a more uniform product for large-scale manufacturing.

Most brands never tell you which type they're using.

We believe you deserve to know.

At Manna Tallow, we source Heirloom Belty Galloway cattle suet (from Fredericksburg, TX) and dry render it in small batches. We openly share our process because we believe transparency matters just as much as the ingredients themselves.
