Angie’s Real Food is the place to recover your health and vitality with real food!
Why do I recommend cutting gluten if you’re struggling with health issues?
Cutting gluten isn’t just about allergies.
Even if you don’t have celiac or a true gluten intolerance, many people notice less bloating, steadier energy, and calmer digestion when they remove it for a period of time.
Why?
Gluten can be harder on the gut lining, especially in already inflamed or stressed systems.
Curious what your body is trying to tell you?
Try removing gluten for 30 days and pay attention to how you feel.
If you’re ready for personalized guidance to heal your gut and reduce inflammation, book a consultation through the link in my bio.
Too Much Acid… or Not Enough?
Common signs that may be associated with low stomach acid include:
* Feeling overly full after eating
* Bloating or excessive belching after meals
* Undigested food in the stool
* Difficulty digesting protein
* Iron or vitamin B12 deficiency
* Frequent bacterial overgrowth or intestinal infections
High stomach acid is actually less common than many people think. Symptoms that feel like “too much acid” are often caused by acid reaching the esophagus (acid reflux), increased sensitivity, or conditions like a stomach ulcer rather than the stomach producing excessive acid.
Common symptoms can include:
* Burning in the chest (heartburn)
* Burning or gnawing pain in the upper abdomen
* Sour or bitter taste in the mouth
* Acid regurgitation
* Nausea
* Symptoms that worsen when lying down or after large meals

Hi, I’m Angie, founder of Angie’s Real Food. 🌿
After spending some years helping people recover from eating disorders, navigate chronic illness, support autoimmune conditions, and rebuild their health through real food, my work became even more personal when I lost my daughter to alcoholism last year.
That loss deepened my understanding of how healing isn’t just about nutrition—it’s about supporting the whole person through life’s hardest seasons. Whether you’re recovering from illness, struggling with symptoms that won’t go away, or simply trying to feel like yourself again, I believe nourishment can be a powerful part of the journey.
Welcome to a space where healing, hope, and real food come together. 💚

What is HYPOGLYCEMIA?
Hypoglycemia is an issue that happens when your blood glucose drops too low—often below ~70 mg/dL.
Common triggers:
• Skipping meals or long gaps without eating
• High-sugar meals without protein/fat balance
• Intense exercise without refueling
• Certain medications or insulin imbalance
To start to correct it-
• Pair carbs with protein + fat
• Eat every 3–5 hours
• Carry a balanced snack=fats and protein and carbs
• Focus on steady blood sugar meals: protein, fiber, healthy fats
Steady blood sugar = steadier mood, energy, and focus.
Inflammation Reset:
Inflammation isn’t only influenced by what’s on your plate — it’s also shaped by how your body responds to stress. Nutrient-dense foods like colorful fruits and vegetables, quality proteins, healthy fats, and fiber can help support balanced inflammatory pathways, while chronic stress may increase inflammation signals in the body. Prioritizing both nourishing foods and relaxation practices like walking, deep breathing, sleep, sunshine, and slowing down creates a stronger foundation for healing from the inside out.

We all experience times of fear.
Fear can be healthy .
It protects us from repeating past mistakes.
The problem with fear is this:
Fear keeps the body in survival mode — tight muscles, racing thoughts, restless sleep, digestive issues, and a nervous system that never fully feels safe.
Healing often begins when we stop living like every day is an emergency.
Releasing fear doesn’t mean ignoring reality; it means teaching the body that peace is possible again.
When the nervous system softens, the body can redirect energy toward repair, balance, digestion, immunity, and resilience.
Health isn’t only about what you eat — it’s also about what you carry.
Sometimes the most powerful detox is letting go of chronic stress, fear, and the belief that your body is working against you.
Did you know your body can make more histamine when you work thru or experience trauma?
Trauma itself does not “cause” histamine intolerance in a simple way, but chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation can influence immune signaling, inflammation, digestion, and mast cell activity.
Histamine can:
* Increase alertness and anxiety
* Affect sleep quality
* Increase heart rate
* Trigger itching, flushing, hives, headaches, or digestive upset in susceptible people.
Possible symptoms of mast cell activation can include:
* Hives
* Flushing
* Itching
* Nasal congestion
* Food reactions
* GI pain or diarrhea
* Dizziness or rapid heartbeat
This does not mean symptoms are “just psychological.” The body and nervous system are deeply connected.
All of your cells pay attention to your thoughts.

Lunch on the run:
Special sourcing,
When I buy produce , I rinse and dry all of my produce .
If I have time, I chop and place in glass jars to have on hand.
Glass jars preserve your greens and veggies for up to a week.
I used to make my own salad dressings, but now I modify the dressings from Primal Kitchen.
I haven’t found that mine are higher quality or preserve as nicely.
Sourcing dressing using clean oils like avocado oil will save you lots of time.
I often add more of my own oils, lemon squeeze , a bit more herbs , to stretch the dressings out and add flavor.
