New Year, new you?

Every year, as the New Year approaches, we are all inspired to look inwards and reflect. What will we change in the next year, what will continue as it was?
⁣
This has been a year like none other for all, and the refrain I keep hearing from so many is that they’d like to return to normal life, but retain some the hard found wonders of this time: savoring the simple things, quality time with friends and family, more outdoor time, better self care routines.
⁣
I personally cannot wait to travel to see my family, meet my in laws, watch a movie in a theater with popcorn, dine indoors... but I too will take with me the learnings of this year, and resolve to refer back to my short list of things that soothed me during the challenging parts of 2020 when life feels too busy or distracting.
⁣
One of the main reasons I started this account was to promote my business that was created to fill the need for beauty and wellness support during the long shutdown from spring to summer. I wanted to be able to use different skills and tap into a creative space, and keep reaching out and supporting those in need. I hope to be able to meet more of you and share my insights, and instill more confidence in your own skills and abilities.

While I’m saddened by the continued separation from loved ones and missing my holiday traditions, I’m also secretly digging on the downtime.

I’ve been able to enjoy early morning walks, sleeping in late, more reading, listening to podcasts, exercise without feeling rushed all the time, bake yummy holiday treats, watch my favorite holiday movies... all things that in normal life feel like a treat, but seems to be the treat of this holiday season.

Who had a great weekend? Who got to relax?? Any self care indulgences?

I’ve been adjusting to being back in my treatment room and seeing clients which has brought me so much joy, but also has left me feeling the loss of the free time I had to spend lavishing upon myself. Anyone else feel this too?
⁣
To make up for this, I made time each night this weekend to do a thorough deep cleanse, gave my pores a bit of love (yum, extractions!), and spent time using my butterfly facial massager after applying my fav serums and oils. It made me feel so relaxed and calm and centered. Funny how a ritual allows you to access those feelings.
