My Wig Envy

tc on your own hair. My wig envy has made this a reality. I'm Adedayo...an unapologetic wig wearer. Like many of you, my hair journey has been varied throughout the years. I consider myself quite lazy when it comes to hair styling. During my relaxed years, I'd often opt for a pony tail. In 2009, I decided to go natural..braids and sew-ins/weaves were my go to styles during this transition. I loved the fact that weaves allowed me to not have to worry about my own hair for 2 - 3 months. However, I soon learned that braids and weaves put too much stress on my naturally fine hair. One day it occurred to me to try a wig. I was hooked and the rest, as they say, is history. Not all wigs are created equal. I've had my share of synthetics, lace fronts, thick/unnatural hairlines, limited to no parting space, questionable hair, tangles, wiggy-looking wigs. Seeking the most natural look, over the years I have painstakingly worked with a wig vendor to perfect each wig to my tastes. It was an exhaustive endeavor but I was determined. People noticed. Strangers would stop me and either compliment me on how beautiful my hair was and were shocked to learn it was a wig. Others suspected it wasn't my hair, but assumed it was a weave. My Wig Envy was born when my quest to create the most realistic looking wig became an obsession. My goal was to create a wig line so natural that it looks like your own hair. Wigs are hands down the best protective style in my opinion. They are convenient, non committal, offer variety/flexibility, provides protection against chemicals/heat and are economical (one wig can last over a year with proper care and maintenance). In my opinion, there are very few disadvantages to wearing a wig. Your hairstyle possibilities are endless and people WILL notice! So, who will you be today? My Wig Envy allows you to Be You.
