Thanks and pardon our progress and we can’t wait to bring you more hot fiyah with a some dope ness and good energy on the side and a sprinkle of mess 🤣😘 Stay tuned for updates

This weeks Beauty & Brains is none other than friend to the show, Yvette Manns! 🙌🏽

Yvette is the author of the children’s picture book, “HBCU Proud”. This book was shaped by Yvettes HBCU experience at the illustrious Clark Atlanta University as well as her experience being an educator for over a decade and seeing children struggle with reading. Some of the reading struggles were due to decoding and language skills, but more often because Black and Brown children weren’t interested in texts with images that didn’t look like them. HBCU Proud is special and necessary for the community because it allows the main character, Q, to just be a normal Black boy. The is evident in this story as he learns to find his OWN passion for historically black colleges and universities.

It is Yvette’s wish is that younger generations are exposed to HBCUs, which she considers to be incubators of Black excellence. AMEN TO THAT!

The book can be found online via and ! Follow for additional info and updates!
