The featured Lā’au today is ‘Olena also known as turmeric. This plant is known in Hawaii as a Canoe Plant as it was transported to the Hawaiian islands by the Polynesians. A natural anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant it has many health benefits and used to treat many conditions and ailments.

When I was thinking about the Hawaiian Principles I wanted to share and talk about today I thought about the devastation and loss the people of Los Angeles have endured over the past week due to the wildfires. Right now we need to Kako’o and come together as one and work side by side to make their lives better. We all need to Kōkua, help and assist those in need and that are suffering.
