🥾Check Them After the Trek

The hike may be over, but there’s one more thing to do before you call it a day: check your pet for ticks.

Even just today we had a client say she found a tick on her dog - they aren't gone yet! 🌿🐜

Run your hands slowly over your pet’s coat and skin, checking carefully around the
ears, neck, legs, between the toes, and other easy-to-miss areas.

While you’re at it, take a look at their paws for burrs, cuts, tenderness, or anything else they may have picked up along the trail.

Keeping your pet’s tick prevention current and making post-adventure checks part of your routine can help keep outdoor fun from bringing unwanted hitchhikers home.

A Sheridan native and current Animal Science student at Sheridan College, Kynber has her sights set on veterinary school and a future caring for both large and small animals.

We’re happy to be part of her journey as she gains hands-on experience, learns more about veterinary medicine, and spends time alongside our team.

The stars seemed to have aligned and we couldn't be happier with the expertise of Heather Lewis and Animal Arts Design.

Heather was exceptional in every sense of the word. From consulting around the world on hospital design, her fascination with historic buildings, to her quick thoughtful responses, we were so lucky to have her help!

She serves on the Fear Free board and was one of the architect firm's founding leaders decades ago. If you see an article about hospital design in a veterinary magazine, odds are, Heather wrote it.
