What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

That is a very common question we get asked a lot in our office!

Both Botox and Dysport are brand name type A neurotoxins. They differ in the proteins the toxin are wrapped with and how they are taken up by the muscle. While both last about 3 months, dysport does tend to kick in quicker! Some patients do feel one lasts longer than the other on themselves. We like to offer both to have options for all of our patients.

Is there one that is better than the other is also another common question we frequently get asked and the simple answer is no! We relate Botox and dysport to coke or Pepsi, some people prefer coke while others prefers Pepsi. It is all about what works best for you! What is PRP injections for hair growth?

PRP stands for platelet rich plasma! Platelets in PRP become activated when injected into the scalp to release mutiple growth factors, which promotes hair growth.

Step 1
Your blood is drawn — typically from your arm — and put into a centrifuge (a machine that spins rapidly to separate fluids of different densities).

Step 2
After about 10 minutes in the centrifuge, your blood will have separated into in three layers:
* platelet-poor plasma
* platelet-rich plasma
* red blood cells

Step 3
The platelet-rich plasma is drawn up into a syringe and then injected into areas of the scalp that need increased hair growth.
